White Otter Inn — Hotel in Atikokan

The White Otter Inn is an amazing place to stop on the road to rest. The dining room has a large menu for both diner and breakfast. The items I have tried are extremely tasty. The bacon cheese burger is fresh pressed beef, chripy bacon, onion pickles, tomateo, lettuce mayo, mustard, and relish on a bun. It is topped with real chedder cheese. It was juicy and had a nice seered bit. 8.5 excellent burger, the milk shake was fresh made and contained real strawberrys, it was not thick but malted and extreme cold with smooth texture. The real strawberries set it of 9/10 The garlic cheese toast was extremely garlicy, full of flavour with plenty of cheese, 8.5/10 The chicken caesar rap came loaded with chicken, and bacon crumble, extremely well prepared and full of sauce, was tasty and delightful. 8.5/10 The chicken quasidilla and beef quaidilla full of flavor, great beef, lots of cheese, and filling 9/10 Everything on the menu should satisfy your palette so come on in and give it a try. Our server was extremely lovely and greeted us with a smile. She was able to handle the whole restaurant stunningly. I am flabbergasted this place has an average rating of 4 stars. I honestly believe half he reviewers are just friends of the owner or something. My room was filthy. Spilled drinks all over the walls. Stains all over the 25+ year old cheap mattresses. Bath tub didn't drain when having a shower. grit etc. all over the window sill. If this place were like $40 a night, I would understand. I don't know where their money goes. Why not buy some new mattresses? I saw one bug as soon as i got in, but ti got away before i could get a good look at it - I don't THINK it was a bed bug. Unprofessional and pathetic. Instead of rectifying a situation where they failed to make a to-go order placed 3 hours in advance, they decided to harass the customer over facebook messager and then had a police office hand deliver a "banned letter" to the customer's personal home after the owner asked for the customer's address themselves puke. This is super embarrassing to have in a small town when word of mouth is just as important as a facebook post. How about next time, instead apologize for the error your staff made, offer a more professional solution and not waste a police officer's time with your ridiculous Karen-like behaviour. *edit to the owner’s response.
