Wow Wow Wow. Simply amazing!! If your planning a trip through the Cabot Trail with a little extra time, don't pass up the chance to venture off the trail when you reach Cape North. We did just that Sept 9, 2019. After seeing the beautiful Cabot Trail and other scenic routes and hotels throughout our Atlantic Provinces trip, my mind goes back to the Burton's Sunset Oasis Motel off the beaten path. As we approached Bay St.Lawrence north of Cape North, the Oasis sat high up on a hill over looking the west were a sunset await's after your long day.  This is not a Hilton or a Marriott but a true road trip motel captured in the 80s complimented by its picturest surroundings. After our 10 day road trip my wife and I agree this was by far our favorite stay. The room was super clean and had a kitchenette where we prepared our one and only home made dinner through out our trip. Just outside our front door are adirondack chairs over looking the bay. Have seat with a coffee or your favorite beverage and watch the sun set where the beautiful rolling hills meet the bay.I will continue to call it the best kept secret when visiting the Cabot trail. The owners Melvin and Debbie were wonderful. Melvin was very informative and very familiar with the area an its history.  He told me to bring a steak next time and throw it on the grill. I plan on holding him to his word. We contiplated staying another night but not enough time. In the morning we made some toast fried up some ham, took in the fresh air and the beautful view, packed up and moved on to Meat Cove. At this point portions of the road is unpaved but well worth the spectacular view that awaits your eyes. You can believe all the good reviews here....

Absolutely amazing place to stay! Stayed with two young children.

Pros: very large and spacious rooms and washroom. comfortable beds. dinning table in room. kitchen sink, stove, fridge, microwave, dishes and pots in room. absolutely gorgeous views. large bath tub. parking nearby. lots of space for a pack and play. comfortable wooden chairs outside to sit and enjoy the view. extra blankets. very nice staff. thermostat in the room and washroom.

Cons: our room didn't have any shampoo, not sure if it was a one off thing. no breakfast provided.

Although this place is gorgeous, comfortable and has great views, there really isn't much nearby. So make sure you have enough food to eat/cook. Or you are about a 20 minute drive from Angie's restaurant and the...

This review is more about the lady at the front desk than anything else. The Accommodations are just fine. After having been caught in torrential downpours for most of the day from riding along the Cabot Trail, she welcomed two very weary and very wet Motorcycle travelers. When we called and asked if there were restaurants in the area, she brought us a menu. Not only that, after we ordered our food, she actually went and picked it up and brought it back to us. That is just exceptional and I thought people should know that.

Our go-to spot when traveling the Cabot Trail, just a short drive from Cape North! We’ve stayed here three times over the years and will definitely return. A cozy 5-room motel, impeccably clean, with all rooms featuring kitchenettes. Perched partway up a hill, it offers breathtaking views of Bay St. Lawrence and the ocean. The scenery from the motel is truly spectacular. Debby is an amazing host Five stars - yes sure!
