Our family loved this place! The service was great as soon as we got here. We were greeted and then walked down to the cottage to tour it and make aware all the amenities. Our cottage was spectacular and spacious. The TV worked great though we did not use it much as the views and fire pit had us occupied. The location and cottage is quaint, peaceful and comfortable. Owners made sure the beach was in top shape as well as the rest of the grounds. The staff was friendly and the other guests around us were respectful and quiet as well. We will for sure book this gem again as our experience was 10/10. I only have one suggestion as a traveller and that we don’t normal travel with or purchase tinfoil/Saran wrap/baggies while on our vacation it would have been nice to have some in the cottage. Other than that the kitchen had everything we needed. Thanks so much! We will be back.

I went in the winter, and think it's better suited for a family in the summer. It is pet friendly and we brought our Yorkie but there was a noticeable dog scent on the blankets and couch as well as fur(to be expected). The staff was friendly, my one bad take away was that when we arrived there was no propane. So no fireplace until the next day. After the propane was filled and done with someone from the propane company walked into my cabin without knocking as I was changing. I did give note of the happenings and was offered an apology. I thought perhaps something would be offered in compensation but really what could they do. I definitely think it's better suited for families then a romantic getaway which is what I was hoping for.

Absolutely gorgeous cottages with staff (Voder, Mary-Anne, and Jack) that were extremely accommodating and friendly. The cottage that we rented was immaculate. Two bedrooms with a full kitchen and a gorgeous view from the living room and deck. We needed a cot, and they were more than willing to supply one. Small sandy beach within metres of the cottages. Laundry facilities with a small movie and book library to help with any down time. Satellite and Netflix were included. 10 minutes from Upper Tantallon, 25 minutes to Halifax, and 25 minutes to Peggy's Cove. This location was very easy to find. We look forward to returning!!! Definitely a must stay for anyone looking for a one or two week rental.

We booked Larinda’s Landing Oceanfront Cottages in early of September 2022, far before the hurricane Fiona hit Nova Scotia.

We are 5 people, and the plan was our first time to visit the province. The reason that we chose this property was for seeing google reviews. But now, we were so frustrated by how the property was responding to the hurricane affecting to its customer.

We called the office 5 times at least by each person, left message after our flight was cancelled by Air Canada. But we have never heard back from the office. Today, we received an email from it, informed us that the cancellation penalty has been charged to the credit card. It was full payment, CAD963.70!

This cottage is so ugly and so unfair to its customer. It is not our fault to cancel the booking, but hurricane!

We had booked accommodations in Cape Breton Island and PEI. All has refund to us, except Larinda’s Landing Oceanfront Cottages. We will never book this cottage again, NEVER!!

I am one of five persons planning this trip. One person of the group booked this cottage. That is the reason why This cottage could not find Susanna Chen in their booking system.

The ugly thing this cottage did was when it saw a request email from our booking friend, which she asked to cancel the booking because of the hurricane coming, and Air Canada cancelled the flight, it charged to my friend’s credit card immediately for the rest balance, which was around 2/3 of the total payments. As a group, we, five people, had to eat this amount penalties. We transferred funds to her, being suffered together.

This cottage lied to all potential customers, said that our actions violated public policy. What is the public policy? At the time, other business owners tried to help travelers, even though they lost revenue. However, this cottage gave penalties to travelers, earned money from people’s pain.

Please stay away from this cottage. This was lessons learned from our experience!!!

Our booking reference number was: 642-456-151. We booked #8- Captain’s Quarter (3 bed rooms). Check in: September 29, 2022 Check out: October 1st, 2022

By reading such long responding messages to future as well as current customers from this cottage, any one can see how selfish and how rude it is!!

It admitted finally, during the hurricane periods, it did know that we made many many calls, left messages, tried very hard to reach it. It just did not want to take the call. Is this a proper way to deal with its customers? Obviously, this cottage cares for its rate on google reviews, only because almost all travelers do search on it before making decisions, same case like us. However, we experienced, we knew it was not a good place to stay. We tell the truth to all travelers who are trying to find their deserved lovely stay place, stay away from this cottage. It is ugly and greedy!

During the hurricane time, all flights by Air Canada to the East coast were cancelled, including to Halifax. Our plan was from Toronto to Sydney, NS. After we knew the flight was cancelled, we called air Canada, wanted to change from Toronto to Halifax, but we were told that the Halifax airport was closed. No power, no water, no food around. So, how this cottage operated still? I doubted, 100%!!

Our supposed check in date was Sept. 29,2022, but this cottage charged to JING’s credit card on Sept. 26th, 2022 for the rest balance, 2/3 of the total, the day when it received the cancellation request from my friend. Even if by its policy, if travelers can not make a trip, the travelers will be had penalty. This date should be Sept. 29th, 2022, earliest, definitely not Sept. 26th, 2022!!! How greedy and ugly this cottage is!

Regarding to this cottage said: my friend threaten to write a google review. My friend told me that when this cottage heard that a bad google review will be given, it said:” you do what you want”.

Why could it treat customers like this, so rude and bully? It is because we provide all credit card info already. It is this cottage’s self which ruins its...

We, a group of five friends, planed our first trip from Toronto to NS and PEI from Sep 25 to Oct 2. On Sep 6 one of us booked two nights stays in Larinda’s Landing Oceanfront Cottages on Sep 29 and 30 and a deposit of $240.92 with receipt number 642-456-151.

Unfortunately, Hurricane Fiona made landfall, causing power and water outages in many places we planned to go, and Air Canada cancelled our flight on the 25th. We had to call all booked accommodation and car rental immediately to inform us of all cancellations.  Everything else went smoothly, all merchants fully refunded without any problems, except Larinda’s Landing Oceanfront Cottages who never answered the phone. On the 26th, we had to email them to cancel the bookings on the 29th and 30th, and they quickly replied to the email saying that they could cancel the reservation with no refund, and soon they debited the balance of $722.78!!! We couldn’t believe it! They took all of our $963.7,  when we had no other option after the flight was cancelled due to Hurricane Fiona.

And their email hided the sending address, and we even couldn’t reply to communications! We tried and tried to call them and never answered!  The only thing we could do is to go to Google maps to write bad reviews to express our dissatisfaction. Now one month passed, the owner of the cottage replied on our reviews on Google, said that we had not registered or stayed there, we were "Deceptive Content (Fake Engagement and Misrepresentation)" and asked Google maps to remove our reviews! Wow, we've never seen such a bad business owner!!! Instead of dealing with customer complaints, they asked Google to remove our bad reviews! We had all receipts for bookings and deductions. YES, Even We haven't registered and stayed in your cottages, but you already charged all of our money!!! And we've known how bad a cottage it is! Not one...

I am a visitor to Canada, and I really enjoyed my trip in Canada until meeting with this hotel. Our plan was first flied to Sydney from Toronto, went through PEI and went back from Halifax. However, due to the hurricane Fiona, my flight was cancelled at the departure day, Sep 25. I had to cancel the booking of hotels with no choice. After we got a warm call from the cottage owner in PEI suggesting us to cancel the order. The cancellation went smoothly EXCEPT this cottage! We called Mutiple times to this cottage, but no one responded. We tried to communicate through email and wanted to get the refund, but the only thing we got was an email informing us the cancellation fee was charged. We were taken away $963.70 BEFORE any communication! The kindness and friendship of Canadians impress me deeply after I went to Canada. However, this cottage only leaves me with confused and anger. I can hardly believe that there exists such an ugly, unbelievable and unreasonable place in this beautiful country. Friendly reminder: NEVER choose this cottage!!! BTW, I want to know don't you feel shame reaping without sowing?!

I would like to reiterate and mention that I do not disobey your policy on purpose. I could not reach my destination and finish my trip Because my flight was cancelled. Also, hotels in Sydney, Pei and Halifax accepted my cancellations smoothly, NO Cancellation Policy for arguing, because they are kind and reasonable enough to understand...
