Set against a beautiful, peaceful backdrop, this is a lovely spot for some rest, relaxation and an opportunity to enjoy your surroundings. Lena and Jeff are incredibly welcoming and took care of every last detail. They made great suggestions for dinner in the area. We returned to the Manor from dinner to discover a roaring fire and a bottle wine. Lena checked on us as our group chatted to add another log to the fire and make sure we had what we needed. Their little pup even came by the give us a cuddle. I had an incredible nights rest in the Princess Margaret Suite and woke up the next morning to the most incredible breakfast - fruit, french toast, bacon, waffles, a selection of loaves and croissant, yogurt, juice, coffee and so much more. You must try the Oma Hilda french toast with Lena's own maple syrup!!! We lingered over a long breakfast and got to know Lena and family. They were such a pleasure to talk to. Then I joined the dogs outside for a little morning stroll. There were so many areas to hike and explore in Caledon and beyond and the Manor was the perfect home base from which to enjoy the area. While we spent the afternoon exploring, I could have just as easily spent the afternoon chatting with our hosts, finding a corner to read and enjoying the property. We hope we can return to enjoy the pool and the Manor again in the summer. Our hosts may have been strangers on arrival but they made us feel as though they were welcoming old friends and we certainly felt we were all friends by the time we departed. Be sure to visit if you are in Caledon. Surroundings and hospitality are...
Read moreWe had a girls’ youth retreat here last weekend and the stay was amazing and so organized, especially for hosting 8 teenagers and 3 counsellors. The place was impeccably clean, roomy, and welcoming. We originally thought the manor would be too fancy to cater to the girls, but Lena and Geoff went over and beyond to meet our needs in the following ways: we got there ahead of check in time, but Geoff organized this extremely thoughtful and fun geocache scavenger hunt through their beautiful forested property, they offered (good quality) rain boots for the mud, they gave us use of the washer and dryer in case we needed it, Lena came and helped us start the fire for our s’mores making session, Lena made sure we made use of the 24 hour coffee, tea, and hot chocolate bar and showed us where to get the whipped cream and etc., Lena provided cooking dishes when requested and was a very present host to us throughout our stay, especially when providing an amazing breakfast - Oma’s baked French toast and own-forest tapped maple syrup are necessary to mention! I was so impressed and pleasantly surprised to see a lack of hesitancy in regard to hosting a large group of rambunctious and loud teenage girls! Hosting such a large unpredictable group is no easy feat and we felt so much love from Lena and Geoff! Lena also shipped a sweater that one of our youth left there by accident! I could go on and on about our time there and how wonderful our hosts were, but you get the point. Lena and Geoff are such gracious, thoughtful, and incredible hosts! We had an...
Read moreWe spent a night at the Caledon Manor, and our only regret is that we didn’t stay 2 nights. Lena was a gracious host, from confirming the booking, till check out, and every step in between. The house is very nicely laid out, our suite was very clean and private with direct access to the pool area, and a very large lounge area adjacent. They have both an outdoor fireplace and a propane fire table if you prefer, near the pool. They have 24 hour beverage station for tea and coffee with ample selection. The main floor has another large community living room with a tv They also have a good fitness room. . They have a nice hiking trail winding through a forest beside a pretty stream. We would have liked to play some pickleball on the tennis court but ran out of time. It is a good location if you like cycling, it is minutes away from the Caledon rail trail, which we rode on for hours. We also would have liked to hike on the nearby Bruce trail, if we hadn’t relaxed by the pool. We aren’t into shopping but Caledon and nearby towns had tempting options. Lena served us an upscale breakfast, that left us very satisfied and delighted. They even make their own maple syrup from trees on the property. The dining room is beautiful and this venue would make a great location for a small to medium size wedding. We enjoyed the property with its friendly and welcoming hosts. We highly...
