This is more of a camp city than a camp village. Keep that expectation in mind. With 121 campsites the place is perpetually active. Barely a few minutes will ever go by without vehicles driving by your campsite. There is always going to be people noise from various casual camper groups as well. This place is barely 2km from the Walmart and Campbell River. It is extremely casual friendly. Also, despite the proximity to civilization, it has no functional cell signal. The hills and thick forest block it. All that being said, it's not a bad place. The campsites are a bit narrow but they are well maintained. The roads around the park can handle larger rigs for the most part. Just be careful of ditches along the roadside. The hiking trails are also pretty good, even if you will encounter people on the trails almost constantly. In all, just know what you are getting here. It's a city side campground with all the nothing special that comes with it. The place is well maintained enough to be a good getaway spot if you don't have the freedom to venture further away from civilization. It just doesn't achieve that remote serenity of the places that are further away from the population areas.

One of the most natural and spectacular campsites on the island. 10 mins from town and shopping. The river for fishing is basically across the road. McIvor Lake 15 mins drive for water recreation. The campsite is spotless and well taken care of. Rv sites, tent sites. No power or water on sites. Extremely clean outhouses and faucets all along the roads. 22.00 a night. Gates lock at 11pm to 7am. 10 pm noise rule, no generators can be used at night. Enjoy your stay and clean your site of garbage before you leave. You cannot use the wood or pick the flora and fauna on site.

If you’re into privacy, nature and well kept sites this is your place to go. Great, quite big campground. Sites are nice apart and have enough space. All are equipped with a fireplace and picnic table. From the campground you can make several hikes and wildlife is just around the corner. Amazing!

First time camper here. Partially my own fault, I ended up taking what ended up being a prepaid spot. The people, who were from Germany, showed up around 8pm. After some todo, we got things sorted, however I had driven nearly 18 hours that day and was extremely tired. I asked the staff at the campground if they could fit me in a smaller space as it was just my truck and I. The park staff was belligerent to say the least with no wiggle room. I explained that I was so tired it would be dangerous for me to drive any further. Nothing to say but shrugged his shoulders, and sent me across the highway to a public parking space on the side of the road where I was able to park for the night. Not a great ending to a long hard day on the road.

Five stars for cleanliness and a well laid out campground. Zero stars for any real customer service. And to the Germans if you're reading this......
