There are no extras in this motel but it is clean and presentable. There is no restaurant attached to the motel which is a good excuse to explore the town of Carleton or Maria, 3 km to the east. (They are on the south side of Gaspe Penninsula.) The building is perpendicular to the road, which isn't too busy, so any of the units will be quiet. The road is right by the Baie de Chaleur and there is a long sandy beach in front of the motel. The beach was clean with just the natural flotsam on the sand. Paulette, the owner, and I had a chat about learning each other's language and had a few laughs about the mistakes we make. . I was able to add a couple of words to my limited french vocabulary.    Read moreAffordable place if you are looking for a comfortable and a clean night stop on QC Rte 132 in Carleton-sur-mer.The place is bit old fasioned and room was bit compact and small but we pretty much had everything we needed for the night. This building has a long halway and through the doors you first enter in to a hallway and your room access is from the hallway where they have set up a little coffee place ,with few chaires and small tables. There was coffee and microwave and toaster oven out in the hall.. not enough creamer for the coffee. not enough outlets in the room. Had to sit in the hall to use my laptop as there was no accessible outlet in the room and NO desk. would have to place laptop on top of the mini fridge if i wanted to use that.
