My softball team and I recently stayed at this motel for a weekend. The outside of the motel made me believe the inside would be dirty and grimy as well, however, the rooms were clean and fresh. We paid $215 per night which was steep considering the size and amenities available. We are a group of 7 adults and were on 6 motorcycles visiting Manitoulin Island from Detroit, MI USA for the 3 day "Ride Manitoulin Motorcycle Rally". I found the Mindemoya Motel via web search and called to reserve two rooms for 7 adults. When we arrived we checked in with Nick, the owner. That's when we found out that one of the rooms had only a double bed in it. But, for the other room, Nick had hooked us up with an "apartment". It had two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen and living room with a hide-a-bed sofa. If you're looking for Hilton or Hyatt accommodations, then take your stuck up nose somewhere else. But if you're looking for old school lodging with clean rooms at great rates, this is the place for you. Nick made sure we had clean towels whenever we needed them. Anytime he would see any of us around he would ask if we needed anything. He even stacked some firewood by the firepit in the back so we could have a bonfire!
