Great campsite when visiting Dawson City, or what remains of it. At least two or three nights recommended to explore the surroundings. The last Yukon river ferry takes you 24/7 in a few minutes to the small but still atmospheric town. There are no services on this side of the river (except clean pit toilets) but the town provides everything a traveler needs. Besides the scenic town, the Midnight Dome Peak is an absolut must in halfway clear weather. Bonanza Creek and Dawson Dredge no. 4 within easy reach. If you have a 4WD or the weather has been dry for a longer time, the clean, green and absolutely quiet campsite right next to the Yukon River provides a great rest before taking the next stretch on the Top of the World Highway to Alaska, or, for the daring, even the Dempster further North into the North Western...
Read moreThis place is beautiful and huge with over 100 campsites and half of them on the river. Tons of clean bathrooms with toilet paper and 2 huge play areas for the kids. Across the river on the Dawson City side is a big off leash dog park as well.
There are lots of pull through sites for larger vehicles and tons of beautiful tenting sites.
It is super closer close to the ferry, not even a minute once you get off.
The ferry is easy to find when you get to Dawson as just follow the main road right to the end. It's free and runs mid May to mid October every 6-7 mins. (It is less then a 5 min ferry ride).
Looking for a laundromat? There is only 1 in town at the Bonanza Gold Motel. You can top up your water there too.
Would def stay here for the location, $12/...
Read moreLove this little camp ground! It's just across the river from Dawson city, you have to take the ferry to get there, and in summer you should get there early, because the line up for the ferry can be long, and you can be waiting a while. But once you're there you can easily walk to the ferry and walk on the ferry to get back into dawson. It's a Very quiet and well maintained camp ground. Free fire wood, clean out houses and cheap. Try and reserve a site at the end of the camp ground on the river side, you won't be disappointed...
