This place is a hidden gem. Recently renovated (and reopened) by the children of the original owners. This is a small, family owned cottage resort. There are tiny cottages (like tiny houses) lined up and staggered on the water front. A majority of the cottages are only 15-50 feet from the shoreline. They are also staggered with sizable front porches, so you almost can’t see your neighbors when you are enjoying your morning coffee on your porch. The cottages are about 4 feet apart from each other. They each have a kitchenette (sink, counter, fridge/freezer, oven, microwave and a few small appliances like a coffeemaker and toaster), 2 bedrooms, a bathroom (shower no tub), inside dining, and love seat and TV.
At first, the close proximity of the cottages made me think I had made a mistake. I don’t like to be bothered by lots of other people on vacation. I like my privacy. But this place ended up being really amazing. I had both my kids with me (1 and 13) and my 13 yr old found other kids to play with, another renter even lent him his fishing pole and taught him a few fishing tricks. My 1 yr old had a ball on the private beach. I was very surprised to see a large bucket of sand toys, floats, and 2 additional bins of toys laid out for kids. I didn’t even need to bring the toys I had packed. They also have 2 paddle boards and 2 paddle boats very easily accessible to guests.
There are 3 docks, set up with lounge chairs and tables to have meals on, if you like. Even with all the cottages full, there are endless options of seating. I really appreciated that. The owners live right on the property and are often out talking to the guests, tending to flowers, and enjoying the lake as well. We stayed here for 4 nights and didn’t want to leave to venture out, as we were so relaxed and enjoying our stay. This place is 15 minutes from Bracebridge and 12 minutes from Port Carling, so you are far enough away with the very easy ability to go shopping or exploring elsewhere. There is also a small country store about a 5 minute drive away with a coffee/sandwich bar and some essentials.

Read moreI booked a one night stay at this cottage on August 24th, 2019 for my husbands 30th birthday. When I called the office to make the booking, I spoke with a lady named Janet. She was extremely friendly over the phone and answered all the questions I had. When I arrived, I was greeted by Janet's mother. She took the time to show us the property and also mentioned a spot to overlook Lake Muskoka that we could walk to if we had time. The cottage was in perfect condition, very clean, spacious and cute. It had all the necessary items you would need for a stay. Friends of ours joined and we had separate rooms. The water was steps from our deck and was super warm! There was a BBQ there that we were able to use for dinner and we did some fishing off of the dock. Janet's mother took the time to come by and make sure everything was good and had a friendly conversation with us. This was my first time booking a cottage and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. My only problem is that I wish I could have stayed longer! Next time I will need to book a full weekend. I've worked in customer service for many years and this place exceeded my expectations. Thank you both for making our...
Read moreWe had such a beautiful long weekend at Beachside Cottages! We stayed in Cottage #8 which was absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous barn-door style entrance to the bedroom that gave the whole cottage an extra spark of charm. The cottage was very clean and you can tell that they have been well-maintained and recently renovated.
Janet was such a lovely host, making sure to check in with us and see if there was anything else we needed. You can tell this family goes above and beyond to run their business and that meant the world to us!
We wish we had more time than just a long weekend, we could have easily spent a week or more relaxing on the beautiful property and taking in the surrounding sights. Thanks again for...
