We have been to several KOA's throughout Ontario and the United States and we have always wanted to visit this park. So disappointed. Check in was done by a girl who provided very little information other than our site number with a map. There is supposed to be Wifi but we were never provided with that information. There were absolutely no planned activities for kids(crafts, wagon rides etc) which is part of the reason we choose KOA's. The barn has some video games that didn't appear to be working and the playground at the entrance is extremely outdated.||There are ALOT of seasonal sites, by far the most we have ever seen at a KOA, some of which are pretty delapitayed , and if you are fortunate enough to stay across from sites 236 and 237 you get to have blue LED lights shining in your face all night long. (Picture attached)||The pools are freezing cold, to the point that my daughter, who swims everyday, refused to go back in after 1 swim. The full hook up sites are also close to the highway which makes it extra noise and the steady stream of helicopters flying into the Muskoka airport was pretty noisey as well. We also travelled with our dog and found that there are no dog facilities other than a "dog walk", which really is just an open field beside the horseshoe pits. Nothing fenced in for the dogs to run. ||All in all not our...
Read moreIf you want a real tenting experience at a KOA this is it! Our spot was beautiful. It was a large site under beautiful trees and had one of those large boulders you see in muskoka. This site is the nicest tent site, but far away from the bathrooms and pool. The site is adjacent to a playground that’s suitable mostly for older children, but does have a baby swing. The other playground was great for our toddler, but again quite the walk (for him) to get there. If you have very young children, it might be better to get a spot closer to all of these things, such as site #103. There is a neat barn that has been refinished beautifully where you can do your laundry, borrow some books, and has a bunch of retro arcade machines (I’m pretty sure they’re just for show though). The pools were older but kept clean, as were the bathrooms. Kiddie pool was on the cold side, but my guy didn’t mind thankfully. Other moms seemed a bit annoyed because it was too cold for the babies and the heated pool was very busy with kids. Overall, I was surprised how much wilderness you get with this KOA. It’s not like you’re camping in someone’s backyard here. Everything was very quiet after 10. Highly recommend...
Read moreWe stayed in cabin 07, four adults. The cabin is beautiful. Nice thick mattresses. However, it was a double bed and bunk beds. The top bunk bed had VERY limited head clearance. Definitely meant for kids, which was disappointing after paying the extra $15/night for each (2) adults). The washrooms were located very close by, which I intentionally booked for my senior parents. They appeared clean and spacious. However, during what I would assume was peak time for transient campers to require the washroom before having to pack up and leave for 11am, they closed the washrooms for cleaning. The washrooms remained closed both mornings from 8-9am. We attempted to go one morning and were barked at to go to washrooms by the store. Although not a huge walk, it seemed ridiculous to be cleaning the washrooms while campers are waking up and needing them. |Pools were opened, and clean. We did not use them. Campgrounds were beautiful. We would be happy to return to...
