This is not worth the cost and the staff is unresponsive.||||First, we discovered that although our cottage (#10) had a TV and a Bell satellite box, there was no satellite service, and therefore, nothing to watch. We reported this to the onsite office and they told us to contact their head office. We did. No answer and no voicemail at the head office and no reply to email. Four days later, we managed to get in touch with head office (Michael) who told us that he would get it activated. It never was. Eventually, the onsite office admitted that this cottage has had no service since the spring - and this was in August. They had contacted Bell, and nothing happened and so they left it like that. It's not like I wanted to spend all week in front of the TV, but some TV on a rainy night would have been nice, especially since it was advertised.||||For the first few nights, there was also no picnic table at the cottage, but it eventually appeared. I think another cottage had taken it. ||||The web site says that boats can be rented at a nearby marina. But no, that marina no longer rents boats. ||||It appeared to me that the main house was full of the extended family of the manager of the onsite office, which meant that there always seemed to be a good supply of shirtless Russian(?) men standing about on the dock leering at my wife.||||WiFi is available if you are close to the playground, which is where the router is. If you're in cottage #10, you may be able to connect to the very weak signal, but you'll never be able to get any data. We heard this from several other renters, some of whom needed WiFi connectivity for work. ||||Also, their pet policy would seem to require that dogs be less than 50 lb, and on leashes. Some were. Some were not. Nobody seemed to want to do anything about that. My wife is not comfortable around dogs, and having large dogs running around free wasn't a good experience. Their web site says that dogs need to be in the designated dog area in the lake, but there were several dogs chasing frisbees all around the people trying to enjoy the lake. Also, not everybody was cleaning up after their dogs. The dog feces near the playground and near the beach was not welcome.||||On the plus side, there was a good supply of firewood for the fire pit.||||Overall, I was very unhappy with the accommodation. I suspect that our cottage is one of the older and more rustic ones, which is fine, but don't expect that they all have multiple (functioning) TVs or pool tables, because they don't. And the service from both onsite staff and head office staff is lacking. We will not be returning.||||I see other complaints about the safety of the beach. There is now a hand-written sign down there that says "Danger". That should take...
Read moreI would like to start my review off by saying I have read all reviews on lake front resorts.com Google and airbnb.
For the negative reviews I am happy to say that that none of those reviews are true to its nature as ive tried to follow up on all complaints and see what others were saying. I've read about a rock wall being unstable however there was no rock wall the water only had sand And small fish.
Originally I had booked a 2 bedroom cottage With Lakeview for Canada long day weekend.
Turns out the cottage I had rented was double booked. The host contacted me back within seconds and had upgraded me to a 3 bedroom cottage free of charge.
At the resort the host available on site was named Alice. From the moment I pulled in the driveway Alice was already waiting outside to greet me and was very helpful. She showed me where I was able to park showed me all the amentities provided and to ask her for any assistance if needed. She walked me to my cottage And showed me around. The cottages at the resort are very cute clean and very well kept and stocked with all pots pans utensils lighters plates etc. All you really need to bring is your food clothes towels and Bed linens. Blankets and pillows are provided for every bed available including extra blankets for warmth.
I was hesitant at 1st in regards to the weather and wanted to bring a fan or portable AC.. It turned out that I didn't need any of the two the 2 as the cabin was in a nice shady area and was cool the whole duration of the trip. It was very comfortable and the cottage provides not only electrical heat but an indoor fire pit as well which is very romantic and relaxing.
Each cottage has its own private pit its own private bench and it's own private barbecue. The only amentities shared which are free of charge would be kayaking and canoing. The resort had provided enough kayaks and canoes for everyone to enjoy. Oh and bring your fishing rods!
I decided to extend my stay an extra day and the host was more than kind to me.. I was skeptical in the beginning of this whole trip as it was my 1st time booking anything out of the city. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a great escape! You won't find a better...
Read moreI would NOT RECOMMEND this location as a space for people who want to relax in a safe, clean and beautiful location. Pier 100 HAD SPACE FOR A REASON and here are a few of the many reasons why;
The 'retaining rock wall' surrounding the beach moves underfoot making it EASY to SLIP and have a rock fall and INJURE a person. It is clear the SAFETY is not a concern.
The beds have VERY uncomfortable old mattresses, there few kitchen supplies, things were less than clean upon arrival, old dirty furniture, a long hike to the beach from the few cottages that have a good view of the water. For guests, there is only one small umbrella, so basically NO SHADE For the guests, there are many muskoka chairs in direct sunlight but only 3 lounge chairs that they have been broken since before our first visit. The wifi is very week, thus resulting in personal data being used. For days a large, dirty, moldy, water trampoline was left next to the sitting area. For the water fun, there were disgusting moldy life jackets (very few to even fit adults), and the only 1 legally required safety kits for kayaks/canoes. In the middle of the week, the lawn was being cut for HOURS. Other resorts do this on the change over day. I have been going to Pier 100 for a few years now and to be honest after my first stay the only reason I continued to go we because of a cottaging tradition with family and friends. We needed a new location to accommodate a large number of people due to a previously enjoyed resort being sold.
AGAIN, I would NOT RECOMMEND this location as a space for people who want to relax in a safe, clean and beautiful location without having to BRING MOST ...
