My family and I have been coming to this resort for the last four years and it never disappoints. The scenery goes from a picturesque winter wonderland in the winter months to a breathtaking quintessential Muskoka getaway in the summer months. The sunsets aww very different season to season. Incredibly, all the cottages are lake front. S, for how much land there is, there aren’t that many cottages and the property never feels busy. ||Cottages|Spotless and quite large with big windows that lets in the incredible views. Each cottage has hvac and it’s own outdoor bbq. ||Location|The resort is right between the town of bracebridge and port carling so lots of restaurants and shopping on either side.|Because it’s on lake Muskoka, boating looks it’ll be tons of fun. ||Lake|There’s a clean hard packed Sandy beach with shallow water which gradually gets deep and just perfect for kids. |A short C curve swim around a picturesque rock is where the dock is. This side has deeper water. My 6 year old would swim and build sand castles on the the beach and then fish off the dock. ||Amenities |There are kayaks, canoes, paddle boards and a fun inflatable structure to swim to. |A basket ball hoop and some other outdoor games also dot the property. I counted 2 fire pits which didn’t seem busy. |There’s decent skating 1 minute drive away and a golf course across the street. ||The management is super helpful and check in check out is a breeze. Read moreBeautiful place and lovely villas. The property and amenities are as described on the listing. I would have given it 5 star if customer service was better. We encountered an issue when we got there. Our villa’s AC wasn’t working and they couldn’t fix it. We had booked 2 villas side by side as we were a big group and due to the AC situation that villa wasn’t liveable as it was quite hot. They ended up moving us in a different villa which didn’t have as great of a view due to its location and it wasn’t next to our other villa either. Moreover, the whole moving in and out and moving in again to different villa took up our entire first evening and created a great deal of distress. The management didn’t seem to care too much about our inconveniences. We should have been compensated for this trip and gotten some sort of refund for one whole evening wasted due to their issue but they only offered a 20% discount on the next booking and that too they asked us to book within few months for next year. And this was offered after multiple emails as they didn’t even acknowledge my first email about my bad experience. With such bad customer service experience, I am not taking my guests back to them. I’d rather find a different property with better...
Read moreWe’ve been vacationing in Villas of Muskoka for years, back when the management actually cared. Now it feels like the motto is “why bother?”
Maintenance? Apparently optional. Things break, and instead of fixing them, they just let them become part of the “rustic charm.” Door handles falling off, equipment that doesn’t work — it’s like a museum of neglect.
The geese clearly run the place now. Droppings everywhere — walkways, grass, beach. If you’re looking for a true “nature experience,” congratulations, you’ve found it. Too bad no one on staff seems interested in cleaning it up. Geese even fearlessly climb the back porch in the middle of the day to finish their business (picture attached). Sample of the beach view shared as well (I can guarantee it’s like no other beach you’ve seen).
And the prices? Still high, of course. I guess we’re paying for nostalgia, because it’s definitely not for quality.
This used to be a great spot. Now it’s basically a goose sanctuary with broken amenities attached. After this visit, we’re officially done donating...
