My Husband and I just got married at MacDonald Acres on Sept 22/2018 and I can not say enough good things about the owners (Aimee and Kayle) of this venue. Less than 2 months before our wedding I had to change venues and that's when I found MacDonald Acres!!! They were extremely friendly and helpful when it came to absolutely everything. They gave as an amazing deal because we are locals, Aimee helped me through everything I needed to do to get the liquor license ect. And to top it all off even though we had rented the suite for the Friday and the Saturday night of our wedding , because we had a couple family members staying with us in the suite they wanted us to have a romantic evening so the gave us a night in one of there unbelievably amazing and romantic glamping tents!!! It was so generous and kind of them. We had an amazing wedding an amazing evening and alot of the was due to Aimee and Kayle and there breath taking, absolutely beautiful venue. It is so well kept and clean and Aimee and Kayle are so welcoming, staying there was so enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable. All of our family that stayed in the RV park kept coming up to us and telling us how amazing Aimee and Kayle are and how beautiful and clean everything is. We want to thank Aimee and Kayle for helping us to have an unbelievable wedding day and night. We and our family will definitely be back and be recommending your venue to everyone!!! ย ย ย Read moreWe are from Ontario and this was our 1st visit here. We stayed here for 6 nights in August 2020. The campsite is a small private campground high up in the hills about 20 minutes to downtown. It is run by a lovely young couple who are a 10 out of 10 on the niceness scale. It is on their property and is fairly new and they have worked and continue to work very hard every day to create a really cool project. They have done a great job making this a boutique style campground with a section for dry camping on a lush lawn area with incredible views down from their hilltop to Lake Okinawgan and the valley. There is also a small high end tent experience with cute white tents with comfortable queens size beds and comfy duvets. They even supply gas fire pits for that experience. Then there are staggered trailer or coach sites that are on fine gravel with granite rock wall dividers. They are large sites even for tag axle coaches and they have cute light posts and new plastic and steel picnic tables. There is a dog park, a children's playground and the feel here is like a welcoming family visit. We would definitely recommend this RV site if you don't mind being a few minutes out of town and want something safe, welcoming...
ย ย ย Read moreBeautiful piece of property but basically just a gravel parking lot for the RV park itself (no privacy, no trees, no landscaping) and was disappointed when we arrived to learn that the spot we had reserved (that had a view of the trees/lake) was no longer available so we got to look at the side of our neighbors RVs instead. Hosts kindly offered a discount but still, I wish we had known ahead of time. In terms of other things ... water hook ups were not ready so we had to fill our tank each day (once we figured out how to do it using our neighbors extended hose); didn't know that there were no bathrooms or showers (just one portapotty and one outdoor shower); weren't told that you had to hook up a battery to get the shower running so had to figure that out; then the shower ran out of water so we had to ask for more water, then the shower was luke warm ... anyways, nothing major. Just a bunch of little stuff that we had to either ask for help on or fiddle around with (like the sewer outlets were set 6" or so above ground so we had to fiddle around trying to get our hose to drain). Hosts were very nice and did what they could to be helpful and make up for...
