If I could rate this place a million stars, I would!
We stayed at Myra Canyon Ranch for 6 months over the winter months as part of their discounted long term offer and it was honestly worth every cent.
Rolf, Kathrin and their family were so wonderful and nothing was too much trouble for them. They were respectful of our space, but also helped us out with anything we asked for.
The ranch itself is beautifully finished, the suites are immaculately clean and we witnessed on several occasions how committed they are to keeping to Covid protocols. Even though there were lots of other guests during our stay, we never once felt unsafe due to the measures they have put in place.
We stayed in the Eagles Nest unit, which is the smallest, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in views. The best part about the unit is the incredible huge tub in the bathroom, where you can spend many hours admiring the ever changing landscape of Kelowna and the Okanagan.
You share the ranch with multiple furry friends including horses, chickens and two of the most lovable and excitable dogs you could ever wish to meet. Give Lily (the white one) a little bit of time to warm up to you and if you stay long enough you might also get cuddles from the ranch cats.
From a practical perspective, the ranch is about a 20 minute drive to downtown Kelowna with ample parking spaces for the number of units. I would strongly recommend winter tires in the colder months. There is lots to do in the general area, including several local wineries and the beautiful Myra Canyon provincial park.
I could rave about this all day, but the multiple other 5 star ratings on Google, TripAdvisor and Booking.com show I am not the only one who loved their time at the ranch. I would go back tomorrow if I could. A thousand percent recommend this...
Read moreBooking at Myra Canyon Lodge and Ranch came from the desire to enjoy Kelowna but not wanting the hustle and bustle of staying downtown; combined with being close to the Ruth Station Trailhead at the Myra Canyon Tressles. We were pleasantly surprised when the lodge had actually been taken over by new owners and so many unexpected improvements had been made. We booked the Bear Suite as we are a family of 4 with a 10 and 15 year old. My husband and I, had our own separate room, as did the children. The 10 year old stayed on a queen bed and the 15 year old in the loft on a queen bed of his own. Our room had a queen and a loft with another queen. I loved how both rooms had doors to access to the wrap-around deck. The views from our deck were breathtaking. The kitchen was so well equipped that we even had a blender, microwave, oven, hand mixer, over-the-top espresso maker, french press, so many pots/pans/serving dishes and more. Everything in such great condition as well. Both kids, were so taken with all the animals that they had on the ranch, chickens, ducks, goats, cats, dogs, horses, and a lama on the way next month. The best part of our stay was the warm, welcoming, helpful, and calm attitude of the hostess and her family. We loved how laid back the lodge was but how thoughtful care was taken in so many aspects of our stay and details of the lodge. Can't wait to make this a...
Read moreMyra Canyon Lodge is an absolute hidden gem just 25 minutes from downtown Kelowna, and I honestly can't believe it took me this long to check it out. The peace and quiet here is unreal — pure tranquility surrounded by nature.
The new owners, Steph & Adrian, are true superhosts. Shortly after we arrived, we realized the entry bridge ramp wasn’t built for my heavy power wheelchair. So what did they do? They built a new ramp — on the spot! Thanks to the level entry, I had full access to the Bear Suite, including the wraparound deck and the wide open living room. The roll-in shower was an unexpected bonus.
While the suite is labeled "accessible," here are a few things to note: The bathrooms are on the smaller side The beds are low to the ground It looks like there’s enough clearance for a Hoyer lift
Steph & Adrian went above and beyond, even offering to raise the bed and install a grab bar if needed. If you have specific accessibility needs, I highly recommend reaching out ahead of time — they’re incredibly helpful and open to...
