It is unfortunate that this beautiful property is managed in a manner that does not reflect its potential. Our group has visited Four Seasons Retreat for several summers in a row, and we have recommended it to many family and friends. Unfortunately, it appears that our loyalty holds little value to the current management.
We returned for our annual summer getaway with our group of 13 guests, ranging in age, during the first weekend of August. We rented three two-bedroom cottages. The only notable issue during our stay occurred upon the arrival of our final guest, when Greg initially refused to allow him to enter the premises. Greg considered a 10-month-old infant, sleeping in a playpen we had brought from home, as an adult occupant. Our understanding, based on standard industry practices and past experience, was that children under the age of two are not considered occupants for capacity purposes. While we respect that property owners may set their own rules, this policy is neither listed on the business’s website nor was it communicated during the booking process. Ultimately, Greg permitted our final guest to stay, given the significant distance traveled from PEI. We considered this matter an avoidable misunderstanding, and we had already intended to review our numbers carefully for future visits. Beyond this incident, no concerns were raised to our group by Greg at any point during our stay.
Shortly after our group checked out, we received an email from Greg advising us to rebook elsewhere in the future. No explanation or reasoning was provided for this decision, and when we attempted to have a respectful discussion to understand and address any possible issues, Greg declined but assured us he had a “long list of issues” with our group. This lack of transparency and refusal to engage in dialogue has left our group feeling that the decision was made arbitrarily and without factual basis. As loyal guests to this rental property, we believe it is reasonable to expect clear communication and an opportunity to address concerns before such a decision is made. While we appreciate that any business owner may choose who they serve, the absence of explanation, combined with the dismissive tone of the interactions, came across as both disrespectful and unprofessional. We believe this reflects poorly on the standards of customer care and fairness that should be upheld by a reputable business.
This experience has left our group with the clear impression that the issue was not with our conduct, but with the owner’s unwillingness to engage in fair and respectful dialogue. Loyalty should be met with professionalism, not arbitrary decisions and closed doors. While the setting is beautiful, it is difficult to recommend a business where the management treats long-standing guests in such a dismissive and...

Read moreWe have an adult daughter in a wheelchair so finding places that can accommodate her needs as well as the ability to accommodate 7 of us is always hard. We were glad we found this hidden gem. The cottage was accessible and big enough to house us all. It was a beautiful property, very peaceful and every cottage has privacy. We were able to wheel our daughter to the pool to watch our grandchildren swim..Most of the cottages have water views of the ocean but ours did not so there was a short trail to take you to the ocean, but it was very hard to push a wheelchair through. The owners encourage privacy for all guests staying in the other cottages so they ask you to not walk through other cottage properties. The owner was nice enough to let us know that there was nobody in one of the cottages so that we could push our daughters wheelchair through that cottage yard to get to the ocean. We were able to take her to the ocean to watch the moon rise. The only thing that could have made our visit better would have been a harder surface on the trail to the ocean and an umbrella on the pool level because we couldn't get her up to the level that had shade near the pool. The cottage was fully stocked and had 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms...one of which had a roll in shower...we had a fire every evening and enjoyed exploring the ocean floor at low tide...my grandkids swam in the ocean as well as the lovely warm pool...we also enjoyed the hot tub...the scenery is beautiful with lots of trees for shade. There are lovely flower gardens and the grounds are extremely well kept. There were lots of wildlife and the peace and quiet was an...
