Wood Buffalo Inn — Hotel in Fort Smith

I really enjoyed my stay here. Peter & staff were so friendly and helpful that I felt part of the family, he even picked me up and dropped me off at the airport.||The rooms are large and bright and very clean, they come with a complete kitchen and stocked with dishes utensil and big large coffee pots with complimentary coffee supplies. A nice bright dinning room table to sit at while using the excellent wifi.||Comfortable living room with couch to stretch out on and good TV channels for up North.||In the summer Peter's flowers are beautiful and really add that special feel. The location is very walk able and a great pizza place right next door.||The only downside thing I have to mention is the bedroom in the summer does not have blackout blinds so not quite dark enough for me.||Loved it here and would stay again anytime. Myself and my co worker (truckers) found ourselves dealing with extremely cold weather delays and were nervous about finding somewhere other then our trucks to warm up and unwind... I called wood Buffalo and Peter and his wife made what seem impossible...possible. Once we arrived the rcmp.. park Rangers..everyone were super accommodating about getting us somewhere safe to park our trucks within walking distance to the inn. Once we got to our rooms, I was floored it wasn't just a room with a bed. It was a full-on mini apartment that made you feel like home instantly!! From the best pizza ever at Berro (HIGHLY) recommend... to the help parking our rigs safe and close... to even the small town chats with the locals. I fell head over heals with Fort smith!! Peter was the best host ever! He went out of his way to help us, guide us and make us feel like family!|Our suite had one separate bedroom with a queen bed and a pull-out in the living room area. There was a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting area, TV and table for dining. Everything was clean and in great shape.|The location is excellent: walking distance to grocery shops, restaurants, coffee shop and a great walk to the nearby Great Slave River. We hiked down the trail to the Rapids of the Drowned, which was beautiful and very worthwhile. ||We were also able to view the stars and the amazingly clear and beautiful northern lights by driving a short distance to the night sky observatory, near the airport (also arranged by Peter).||This is definitely the best place to stay...
