Riverdale Resort — Hotel in French River

Owner doesnt know how to provide good customer service. We ordered food from their restaurant 4 times, and every time there was some kind of issue, we brushed them off except for the last time, that solidified we will never order from them again. After a very long day of work my husband decided to order a couple sandwiches and fries. He calls in the order which he is told order will be ready in 20 minutes, so 20 minutes later he goes to pick up the order. Immediately the young girl had him pay and he stood there waiting, and waiting.... nobody said anything to him. Finally after 15 minutes he asks how much longer and is told not much longer that they are packing it up. He then notices the young girl and an older lady who also works there whispering and looking over at him. The young girl hands the older lady my husband's order receipt in which she directly goes into the kitchen. 20 more minutes goes by and my husband has now been waiting 35 minutes in the restaurant and says hes had enough. The older lady finally apologizes and offers him a free alcohol drink or 2, in which he says he doesnt drink, hes newly sober, she asks if she can offer him free pop, he declined and asks for a refund as hes going to leave. She assures him again that the order is being packed. After yet again more waiting after 60 minutes of waiting at the restaurant after a very long work day the sandwiches and fries finally come out. He was offered no discount and denied a refund when asked. This is absolutely unacceptable. It seems the young waiterss forget to bring his order to the kitchen, and then instead of pushing his order ahead they must have left it he for so long....it was literally sandwiches and fries. Zero idea how to treat and keep customers. I even reached out and sent a message to the owner giving her the opportunity to make it right. She read the message and ignored it. We will...

A group us were working in the area for over a week so we usually ate dinner here every night. The food was not too bad. Not great and not terrible. We had a variety of dishes and the hamburgers were good. Nice big homemade patty. Very filling. Hot turkey was also good and the portions were very nice as well. Now the service. This was absolutely the pits and I mean extremely bad. The one night the girl took our order and one guy ordered a veggie soup for BEFORE his entree. NP says the girl. We wait have another drink which we had to go to the bar to get as the waitress would not come around. Once she did the guy asked for his soup again. NP she says. We are still waiting for the soup to this day. Our meals came 45 minutes later. Another night, 4 guys, we got there at 6:30pm. Ordered drinks and then our meals. 2 more rounds of drinks later which again we had to go to the bar to get as the waitress avoided us. Over 1 hour 15 minutes later and ONE of our meals got delivered. Then another 20 minutes later 2 of our other meals got delivered. Then another 15 minutes our last meal got delivered. On Thursday night if you order a hamburger special you also get a domestic beer with it. I ordered a cheeseburger special and buddy orders a regular burger special. We asked for our beer as well. We both got cheeseburgers and are still waiting for our beer. Now I would give this review a 1 star rating because of the lousy service but these are the nights that we had younger waitresses serving us. A couple of nights we had older waitresses serving us and the service we great with them, so I bumped it up to 2 stars as I would like to give them some credit. Young girls...learn from the older girls. Service, attitude goes a long way to happy customers and...

The restaurant was about half full and there was only one waitress, so we expected a bit of a wait. It took about 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Once it was taken, we waited another 45 minutes for our food to be delivered, which we thought was excessive.

Our waitress never came back. An older woman, who I think may have been the manager, delivered our food. My husband had the only good meal - a burger and fries which was good, and priced decently. My parents had lasagna (my dad's was overdone) and the pieces were fairly small for what they paid. Then there's my meal... I had the $23 pickerel dinner. The baked potato was microwaved for so long that I couldn't even chew the bottom of it and the texture inside was terrible. The pickerel was a pathetic skinny piece of over-deepfried leather. I have never had such bad pickerel. My coleslaw was the only enjoyable part of my meal.

No one came back to ask how our food was, offer us more water/ drinks, or ask if there was anything else we needed or would like. When my mom finally went up to pay, our waitress cashed her out and didn't once ask how our meal was.

At no point were we ever rude or impolite and definitely thought that for what we were paying, our food and service should have been much better. If this is their normal standard at the restaurant, then stay at the resort (it looks beautiful) but bring...
