We just stayed a week in the Grand Héron eco-cabin at camping gaspé, and it was really a great relaxing experience. The cabin was brand new, clean and fully equipped (bathroom, shower, bedding, and everything you needed for cooking, even a large propane bbq grill on the deck). As a family, we really got into making our suppers on the grill in the evenings. The cabin has a modern spacious design with the bedroom including a large upstairs bed that the kids loved and quickly turned into their kingdom. Wonderful large windows facing the water. The cabin stayed cool and breezy on hot afternoons. It was really pleasant to relax inside.
Although not very large, we liked the campground itself. it has a playground where our 3 year old was a regular and several games and bikes were also available for the kids. The site also has rentals for watersports. I took my 8 year old daughter paddle boarding all the way to the ocean beaches directly from the campsite.
The campground's location on Haldimand road was great too, which is a very pleasant area on the waterside, less than a five minute drive to the Haldimand public beach -a really amazing wide sandy beach - perfect for swimming. And then it was just a few more minutes drive to the supermarket and other stores in Gaspé.
Finally, Luis was a wonderful host. He made us all feel welcome, was happy to share his knowledge of the area and recommended great places to see and experience. Loved the salted cod fish cake, a local dish, he made and shared with us.
It was our first trip to Gaspesie and we really had a great overall experience making camping gaspé our base for...
Read moreRented a roulette for a 7 days. Camping with a shower, a stove, a refrigerator and so much next-door beauty. My first time in a camper-trailer and walking in felt like home right away.
Louis is an incredible host who brings joy and love to every part of this site. Extraordinary knowledgeable about every attraction, always has a great smile and kind words. Fully bilingual park and accommodations. I can't say enough good things. The camper came equipped with basic dishes/cutlery/to-go containers, a toaster, frying pan&pots, coffee maker. The water is hot. Wi-fi is available but not online-meeting/TV streaming level (if thats your thing, and possibly only due to my site distance from router).
Beach nearby, town of Gaspè nearby, Percè rock & Bonadventure Island nearby. Nova Lumina is about a 90m drive away, very much recommend the 'Lumina' brands of night-walks.
Merci Louis, your amazing personality, energy and passion was invigorating for the whole week and we started every day on the site with the best smile and acknowledgement anyone could ever dream...
Read moreCamping Gaspé is a jewel in the Gaspésie. It is small, friendly campground, well maintained by its friendly bilingual owner, Louis. It is a great base to explore the area’s sights including the nearby Park National Fourillon. The bathrooms are clean with hot showers (1$ for 5 minutes) and laundry facilities. On-site recreation includes a child’s playground, a pétanque court (boules available in the office), standup paddleboards and kayaks, and bicycles. A dedicated bike path into the City of Gaspé is close by as is Haldimand Beach. While just off Route 132, the campground is very quiet and includes camp sites along the shoreline with and without utilities and pull-through sites. Gaspésie is a great palace to visit and Camping Gaspé is a wonderful...
