Cap Aventure - Plage de Cap-aux-Os — Hotel in Gaspé

My wife and I went out on the Zodiac whale watch on a windy evening August 9th, the boat driver insisted on driving at high speeds regardless of huge waves causing all passengers to bounce very hard up & down on waves...sometimes right out of our seats. Very frightening with uncomfortable seating for this and unnecessary. Were were also very disappointed the guide only spoke French, no translation of all the interesting information shared with others at each stop. Not even an attempt. The "safety talk" took about 10 minutes in French and 30 seconds for us in English. Eventually a young bilingual passenger felt bad and took it upon herself to translate some for us. Very unusual for a tourist focused business like this to not be bilingual. Cap should make it clear that guides are not bilingual. So unless you speak French, perhaps you should choose another...

YOU HAVE TO DO THIS!! we showed up at 745 so we could sign in and the staff instructed us how to use the kayak in the sea. We were taught how to paddle correctly so your arms didn't get tired and how to wear the skirt that fits onto the kayak so water doesn't drench your legs. On the day we went it was raining but paddling kept us very warm and we didn't notice the rain at all. No big waves here as we paddled along the shore about 50 meters out and saw harbor seals and grey seals. They were friendly little seals and some tried to climb onto the kayak. Our guide taught us all about them on the journey and that we weren't allowed to touch them. The whole trip out was about 2.6 hours and we paddled 8km that morning. The guides are very helpful and spoke to us in both English and French. This is definitely a hidden gem in gaspe and sell...

It was a great experience, we did explore the area with kayak and watch seals. However, they did not let us get close to the seals which was disappointing because in the advertisements, it seems that it is an option.
