Our visit to Forillon National Park was nothing short of magical. This stunning national park offers an experience unlike any other—where else can you hike alongside ocean views and spot whales and seals right from the trails? We visited in late October during the offseason, so entry was free, and we practically had the trails to ourselves, which made the calm and quiet even more enchanting.

The park is beautifully maintained, with clean facilities and bathrooms available even though most areas were technically closed for the season. We appreciated the attentive staff who were still present, sharing helpful tips and ensuring everyone’s safety. Their commitment to visitor experience and safety, even in the quiet months, was outstanding.

Forillon is dog-friendly too, and our furry companion had as much fun as we did exploring the trails. Each hike we took offered its own spectacular views—from dramatic cliffs over the water to forested pathways that felt straight out of a fairytale. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but the coastal trails with those breathtaking ocean views are something we’ll never forget.

If you’re considering visiting Quebec’s Gaspé Peninsula, Forillon National Park is a must. Whether you’re a nature lover, a wildlife enthusiast, or just looking for a peaceful escape, this park has something for everyone. We’re already planning to come back in peak season to experience it...

Beautiful park! Stopped for a visit by chance as we were going through to Perce and we have a discovery pass already and we thoroughly enjoyed it! saw the other reviews about the wildlife but didn’t think we would actually see it ourselves but jokes on us, 10 minutes into our first hike, there was a mama bear and 2 Cubs eating a few feet off path. Never seen a bear up so close, felt pretty vulnerable. We decided to wait from a distance to see if they would move along but after about 15 minutes they hadn’t moved so we turned back. Decided to go do some other things in the park and come back later. We did the boardwalk on the south side, small fort beside it, and le chute waterfall hike, then came back to attempt the walk out to the eastern point again. Didn’t run into the bear family again but ran into some moose. Lots of friendly people warning us or what they were seeing on the way in. Stunning park overall with some great views! I only wish they had the bathrooms open. I feel like park service should be based on temperature and presence of snow rather than a set date. There were park employees all over. Why couldn’t the...

First, let me state that the park is absolutely fantastic; breathtaking scenery, fantastic trails, etc. However, when we were there, early, June 2023, although the park was open, there was NO available, drinking water. The staff person mentioned that they had not got around to testing the water yet to make sure it was clean. HARD TO believe.

We bought some firewood, but it was so full of knots. It was almost impossible to cut with a small hatchet. Other national parks provide better wood and fire starter so you don’t have to chop it into such small pieces.

Final complaint – the showers run for less than 30 seconds, and then you have to hit the button again , totally, totally freaking annoying. Do they really think anybody can shower and 27 seconds hard to believe that this is one of Canada’s premier national parks – visitors must be laughing at us.

But as mentioned at the beginning – the park itself is absolutely stellar and the staff, for overall, quite helpful. I put it down to bad for...

Outstanding trails. Well maintained. NOT WELL INDICATED as to km here or there..ON the trails. My husband and I began The St Alban trail, which should have been 7.8 km, and ended up being 15km, as we looped back, adjacent, backwards, WHO KNOWS. We ended up being directed to the highway where we walked 2 km to the highway to get to our parking lot at Plague Gaspe. Geesh. Perhaps signs saying, "you are here" or for example on The St Albans trail there could have been an arrow indicating parking lot for Plague Gaspe but no, instead we turned left Cape Bon Ami, which was only a 600 meter climb at a 30 to 45 degrees rough, trail. All that said, I WOULD DO IT ALL AGAIN, as the view and pristine AIR is worth it. Plus many Whales, A Grey Seal, many sea birds i have NEVER seen in NB while walking The Grand Grange trial which was 15.3 but so worth it.
