While the hotel a Brudenell River Resort itself is closed this year due to the Covid restrictions that have prevented it from getting the temporary foreign workers it relies upon to complement its staff, the two resort golf courses, Brudenell River and Dundarave are very much open. It is unfortunate that many off islanders think that the whole thing is shut down and don't bother to check with the golf courses to determine their status. While my wife and I didn't get to stay at the resort, we did stay at an equally good option only minutes away.||||Located literally almost across the road from the entrance to Brudenell River Resort is Brudenell Fairways Chalets where you will find fifteen large cottages with full cooking facilities, screened in porches and a nice swimming pool to cool off in after golf. These are perfect for both families and golfers. If you are not up for doing your own cooking there are a number of good restaurants nearby in Georgetown, Cardigan and Montague. So there really is no excuse for not coming to PEI to play the two courses at Brudenell River.||||Another real bonus about this place is that the Confederation Trail which runs the entire length of PEI goes right by the back yard and if you are a cyclist or walker you can follow it into Georgetown by turning right or Cardigan and Montague by...
Read moreLoved our first visit to the Brudenell Fairway Chalets. Stayed for four nights end of July/first days of August. Chalets were clean and lovely. Enjoyed the screened in porch which even has retractable clothes line. Washer and dryer were great to have to wash up beach towels, swimwear before leaving. Pool was great as well. Loved the open field in front of the cottages that can be used to play all sorts of outdoor games that you might bring with you and you still have lots of room to do so even with the other cottages. View is beautiful. Great set up for towels, leaving bag for you to fill and put out on porch and will be refilled with fresh ones and returned to the porch same day. Toiletries,,etc replenished after 3 night. Lots of families there while we stayed and multigenerational. Cottages have lots of room so great for friends/families to travel together. Close to the Rodd just up the road where we went kayaking and paddle boarding one morning albeit windy that day but the staff was so friendly. We are fussy when it comes to cleanliness and our accommodations and these cottages did not disappoint. Beautiful quiet area to relax away from the Charlottetown/Cavendish area of the Island. Would...
Read moreCottages had ample space and a screened in porch. There is a large sandbox, swing set with two slides, volleyball net, basketball net and outdoor pool. The common areas are in need of some investment as the toys in the sandbox are mostly broken, the basketball/soccer balls are very old and falling apart, and the board in the pool deck are rotten (one broke underfoot while we were there). The sandbox had broken dishes in it, we fished out what we could find, but had to watch the kids carefully to make sure they didn't get cut. The upside is that the cottages all face a common yard that has the outdoor amenities, so no need to walk to the park or pool, it's all right there! This place has a great set up for families. Connected to the confederation trail system with an easy 2ish km walk to a quiet, small...
