Booked the sea kayak tour with this company. I was instructed to arrive half hour early which would be 930. 9am I received an email stating the min number of people haven’t booked for the tour so it was cancelled. I called the company and was told I can rebook another day, I explained to them that I just drove 2 hours? Wasn’t acknowledged just told sorry this will be a maintenance day for us now. I am beyond upset. By 9 I was basically at the destination already, why could they not have informed me the night before that it would be canceled. Their cancellation policy is 48 hours notice for themselves however they feel 30 mins is appropriate? I could understand if the weather turned but this was solely because they wouldn’t make enough money on the tour to justify taking me out. There is no consideration for my gas money and time which equates to 4 hours round trip of driving. I found the woman on the phone completely disregarded me and my concerns, did not sympathize or express concern. The only alternative offered to was go back another day and drive another 4 hour round trip. In fact I had to call her back and ask for recommendations on what else I can do in the area, I was told of a hiking spot. All in all I will say a great disappointment and rather costly for myself.
Sorry I wanted to respond back to you, but don’t know how. I wanted to clarify that at no time the day before did I receive an email nor a phone message regarding the trip being cancelled. The first message I received was by email at 852am The morning of. I called right away, that’s when I was told you had called me this morning and I responded that I had no service as I was already in gross morne but I had no phone messages. The woman responded well we don’t want to call too early in the morning. Obviously I would not have made the venture out if I had a message of the trip being canceled. I understand the need to defend your company but putting it back on me that I didn’t check messages is completely inaccurate. There’s were no messages. Also there is no wind? How did people call the day before and rebook for a future day due to wind, when your policy is 48hours? Anyhow I have moved on and doing other things, I just think in the future you have the same respect for others time and travel as you expect...
Read moreThese guys are really great.
They were super accommodating. We booked a kayak tour, but the weather was a bit windy and they suggested we wait for another day and were totally flexible about scheduling.
They were amazingly friendly and patient with us explaining things and working around our schedule.
Then they suggested some other cool things we could do on our own for free with our bikes we brought with us. They gave us directions to the secret sinkhole and we had an amazing ride and experience out there.
Eventually the wind let-up and we went out kayaking. I am a very experienced kayaker and this was some of the best rental equipment I have ever used. It was almost all brand new, and top of the line stuff. The paddling right out in front of their shop is amazing. It was a quick trip over across the fiord to totally wild landscape and beaches that nobody...
Read moreHighly recommend this tour company. Even if you are an experienced outdoorsperson, give this place a call. The staff will make sure you get the most of your time in Gros Morne. They are super passionate about the park and the customer experience.
We went on a rainy day kayak tour on day, and and a guided daytrip to the Big Lookout as park of the Hiking Festival. The staff went out of their way to make sure we had an awesome time. We unexpectedly took a wrong turn in the backcountry and it was the highlight of our trip. The guides made a plan on the fly and took us down an amazing alternate route. back Huge shout-out to our guide Tanner! Super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, just an all-around great guy.
I've been recommending Wild Gros Morne tours...
