Unfortunately we did not end up staying at Rocklyn inn b&b. But I feel it is necessary to leave this review unfortunately. We booked a room for a family members wedding. Prior to booking I was unaware that where we were had limited availability for rides to get us from the venue back to the bed & breakfast and I had only just found out later. 2 days prior to the wedding I called rocklyn inn and there was no answer so I decided to send them an email in regards to possibly canceling as we had been able to get a hotel room that would allow for us to not have to stress about travel due to a last minute cancellation. Moments after sending my email I received an automatic email from their business stating their bed & breakfast is closed as per the dates stated in the email “September 16th - October 3rd 2025 and phones wouldn’t be answered. Given the circumstances of them being closed due to a death my first thought was they had much going on and possibly forgot to inform existing bookings, so I went ahead and confirmed to book this room at the other location moments after not just getting the email but also it stating it on their website with the same information. We then spoke on the phone with Lesley and she implied we’re out of luck and we’re not allowed to cancel - given the whole purpose I had even went to agree to book this other hotel room was because the information we received stated clearly their business was closed and we weren’t going to give up the only room left. After our phone call with Lesley she sent us an email stating she would refund our a money on one condition we give her proof of where we booked and the exact time we booked so she can see that our reasoning was “truthful”. I don’t think it’s appropriate to ask someone to give personal information of where they are staying as I think it’s an invasion of privacy and i don’t think I legally need to share where I am. If she wanted to go ahead and under miscommunication go ahead and refund us she would have just done so instead of asking someone to share personal and private information. Had I not received the email stating their business was “closed” and gone ahead to confirm we would take the other room we either risked having no room at all or taking the other one that became available and giving the circumstances and information that was given to me we decided on our end to play it safe and book. Given the fact they were closed and the miscommunication they could have gone ahead refunded us even partial of our room but instead i was told if I didn’t share my personal information then no refund & instead of being a sincere person that could have shown some form of compassion instead they took all of our money for the room & sent misleading information through email & on their site. I’m sure staying here is great given their reviews. But I will say the way we got spoke to and, had it made out it was our fault for them sending misleading information they could have easily resolved this in a different manner especially since it states their business will be closed.

I'm so glad I came to the Rocklyn Inn! Right from the moment I arrived, the host, Lesley, greeted me with her friendly demeanour. She gave me the grand tour and explained everything about using the amenities in this beautiful countryside Inn. The rooms and the decor genuinely give you a sense of a peaceful retreat from the usual hustle and bustle of everyday life. I also had the pleasure of meeting Michael after I returned from Scandinave Spa and engaged in great conversation with my hosts about my afternoon. They are genuinely fantastic individuals who are incredibly accommodating and make you feel relaxed and at home rather than just another paying guest. Breakfast the following day. Well, what a spread. You won't leave feeling hungry and delicious. You will enjoy Lesley's cooking. I look forward to my next visit when the cold and snow are gone, and hiking the trails and canoeing will be my next adventure to escape and rejuvenate with nature. Thank you again, Lesley and Michael, for a beautiful time. My accommodations were perfect!

Lesley (the hostess) created the most incredible Happy Birthday surprise for my wife - a nice bday card and bath bomb for her next 🛁 bath awaiting our arrival because we don't have any bathtubs in our new London home yet. It's a 5-Star experience! Lesley made it so memorable.. overall building is a historical structure, but it's Quiet, Serene and Peaceful. We met Oliver - he's an old doggie at Rocklyn Inn B&B but he's super quiet and slept most of the day. Lesley was very attentive and showed us around and introduced us to some of the books in their library. The King sized bedroom was everything we needed from busy London life for a good sleep at night after a recommendation from Chef Joel & Hanna from Down Home Restaurant. Highly recommending to stay here if you're going there or be nearby somewhere. Lesley recommended a really cool book called Euphrasia in their main floor Library which showcased the historic part of Rocklyn and all the little Hamlets nearby if you're interested.

CLEAN * QUIET * COMFORTABLE * QUALITY * FOOD We booked the Rocklyn "King Suite" for my best friends 40th Birthday. From the moment we arrived we were impressed by the wonderful hosts Lesley and Michael. They greeted us immediately and made us feel welcome. After helping to unload our car and helping us to our room we were given time to settle and take it all in. The room gives you the sense that you are the first one using it. We were amazed, the soft fresh bedding, the handmade soap and lavender sachets, the smell of fresh cinnamon buns baking in the oven, the bright fresh colours, I cannot say enough. After we came downstairs we were given a tour through the amazing piece of history that is the Rocklyn Inn. Our first night ended snuggled by the fire with house coats, cozy throws and good old fashioned girl talk. After a great sleep in a great bed with room darkening blinds and the silence that only a country home can offer, we awoke to the smells of breakfast. We wandered to one of two coffee (and snack) bars and settled in with a coffee to relax until Michael came to find us. We did not expect what we found in the kitchen. A full, amazing, award winning type of deliciousness! Full breakfast with everything one could want topped off with fresh squeezed cider and some orange juice as well. The literal icing on top was the fresh cinnamon buns, like nothing you've ever had! After a day at the Spa we returned to a refreshed room with made up beds. We relaxed and enjoyed some games that Lesley got out for us. The next days breakfast did not disappoint. One last thing I would like to add is the beautiful, clean bathrooms. There was a tub or shower option ( 3 bathrooms total) and lots of hot water, soaps and clean fluffy towels. This is one place you...

Lesley and Michael are super hosts. We stayed for two nights in the nautical room and we loved it. The place is very clean (not a speck of dust even under the bed!). We were assigned our own private bathroom just across the hall with double sinks. The Inn is equipped with a soft water system which was a pleasant surprise. We noticed our skin doesn't feel as dry after shower. The common area is very spacious and cozy. We had access to a mini fridge with some complimentary beverages, and a kitchenette with tea and coffee. Lesley had great attention to details. We chose to heat up food we brought in for dinner on the first night. When we went downstairs to the dining room with our heated food, we noticed the table was already set up with placemats and utensils for us. In the morning the kettle in the mini kitchenette was filled with water ready to be boiled! During our stay we did not try their breakfast. We did try the tiny cafe around the corner that is located in the same space of the icecream shop in the summer. They offer really good coffee (the real deal with latte art) and sourdough toast with butter and honey. Both coffee and toast were very good. Across the street there is also a small general store that sells soup and sandwiches for quick food options. Although Lesley and Michael live in the same space, they always gave us enough privacy while checking on us from time to time to make sure we have everything we needed. They have a cute little dog Oliver and he was also very friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Rocklyn Inn and I highly recommend this place for those who are looking for a cozy and relaxing weekend getaway with a...
