Positives -
Has clean toilets.
Negative -
No privacy - not a single tree between you and the camp sites on either side, you might as well be camping with the neighbors, they're that close.
Water is filthy - me and my boyfriend ended up with a rash after swimming in their pond, the water is so slimy the sand by the shore is almost gelatinous.
The blow up slides are an amazing concept but covered in mold and mildew.
Worst part about the blow up slides is thet they want you to wear life jackets, even if you’re an adult.
When I went to get one for me and the three people I was with, they told me it was a $5 fee for the life jacket, however, it was $20 deposit and they’d return the $15 later.
I’m shook because we came for the slides and now I need to drop $80 to use them, even though it says it’s included and not charged for.
When I say fine, her response is that to rent them via card not cash she will either KEEP MY VISA BEHIND THE DESK WITH HER or SHE IS WRITING DOWN ALL MY CARD INFORMATION TO KEEP!
After trying to explain to the worker that doesn’t have a single customer service bone in her body, how illegal that is to require of me and after a ten minute run around where we almost just head back to site, she finally agrees to charge my card the total price then refund me later the remaining percentage.
We also had the two old lady’s, im assuming owners, in the back laughing at us debating over their rights to my credit card, telling us we were making a big deal out of nothing.
I called my bank after to explain the situation because after the rudeness of the lady’s behind the counter laughing at me and my cousin for being disturbed and their response was that I’d handled the situation properly. It’s normal practice to NEVER hand over your card or to write down the information for a business. Verbatim from my bank ‘a normal business wouldn’t ask that.’
There was also a huge miscommunication between all staff couldn’t get consistent rules or advice from anyone - because it turns out the jackets are optional.
I have never dealt with such unprofessional, uninformed...
Read moreLet me start off by saying I spend most of my camping time at the fabulous provincial parks in Ontario, however sometimes it's really nice to hook up to water, electricity and sewer to really enjoy what your RV has to offer.
My family and I went to Fishermans Cove the first time this year and loved it. It's not the secluded sites you have in the parks however they are Very spacious (especially considering that other private parks ram trailers almost on top of each other). The beach is nice and groomed daily (a bit small for the amount of campsites but it has the potential for expansion). They have a climbing "tower" and waterside in the z lake that are fun but get pretty crowded especially on weekends.
The grounds are immaculate and toilets are cleaned twice daily. There are two indoor pools and hot tubs which again are immaculately clean. (use the one furthest from the beach to avoid the large beach crowd). Water Sports rentals are available but in my view expensive which explains why no one makes use of them.
There are several parks on the property (which is quite large) and they too are clean and in great shape (they even til the playground sand).
I have been to some parks where the "seasonal" campers keep their places in such a sorry state that you really get the "Trailer park boys" feel from the place...Not here. The seasonal xampers sites sites are clean, we'll maintained and free of clutter which just adds to the feeling of a well maintained place.
This is a great park for spending a week in and also a great base from which to explore Bruce County. Highly recommended...
My only reservation on the place is cost. it was $56 a night for a back in full hook up site with a cement pad which when compared to US parks starts pushing the cost a bit. Also a huge pet peeve is the $1 showers. I feel that bathroom facilities are already absorbed in the cost of the site, having to pay for a shower seems like a bit of a cash grab...those two things kept it from a...
Read moreNever experienced this side of Ontario before visiting friends at their trailer here. I was blown away at how nice this area is. This is a dog friendly and family friendly campground. I can tell that the area is well kept and the owners do a good job of maintaining their land and all areas. The site is well organized with places to do laundry, drop garbage, and they have a big maintenance shed with their own trucks on site. The sand for the beach is raked for the beginning of each day, there are kids activities, there's a nice little french fry truck on site, and a ton of mature trees in the area. This place makes for a relaxing stay away from the big cities. The lake is massive, and a lot of people enjoy their boating. Summer residents are very friendly. Rules are very strict for certain things that can be done and can not be done. I believe that is what has kept this campground meticulous over the years. Tim Horton's and a couple of places to eat are not far up the road, maybe 15 minutes to Lucknow, if you want to break up a day while relaxing and doing nothing. It really is hard to leave the trailer because doing nothing and looking at outdoor views and water all day is addictive. There's an ahmish fruit and veg store a few minutes outside of the campground. There are excellent canned goods there too. You must pay to park if you're an additional car and not a resident. I think it's around $12 a night to have your car parked in the driveway of a trailer you're visiting, but always check with the office before you go because the price likely fluctuates over time. The office will give you a parking pass to display in the vehicle. Overall, it was a great visit for the times I've been here. I never feel uncomfortable, and the sights and sounds of this location...
