We camped in La Manche provincial park for two nights in July, and while the weather wasn't great, the campgrounds were excellent! It's very clean and well maintained.

We checked out the playground, which is brand new; the swimming hole, which was a marked off area on the pond; and the comfort station with showers, which was very clean. There are several pit toilets and water taps (not for drinking) around the loops for campers to use.

I had always wanted to check out the suspension bridge in La Manche, and so we did the trail to visit it, but the bridge was still closed due to construction. The trail we hiked was 1.4 km from the bridge to the parking lot, but it was hard in some areas with steep rocks.

One of the biggest surprises about the area was how loud the frogs were in...

I give one star but this place dont deserve it . I went with my family just four of us and was harrassed by the worker ( bigger guys) after they asked us to put out a small fire which we did right away then they stayed for 10 minutes or more and harrassed us about a fire that was out , meanwhile there was multiple fires around the camp that were allowed??? . This man / manager was harassing us and made my family uncomfortable to the point we packed our things right away . The park is dirty ,I cleaned trash all over the place. The bathrooms were disgusting band-aids, hair and grim all over the shower and bathroom. So if you want too go camping with your family I'd recommend...

Myself and the family stayed here on Tuesday night for one night to start our Staycation 2020. The park, bathrooms, showers, and sites were very clean and comfortable. The best part about it was the staff. The young man on the check in desk was very friendly and we met two park rangers that went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. My boyfriend's truck had issues and they went out of their way to make sure we had the tools to fix it and that were set to be on our way for the rest of our Staycation. Highly recommend! Will definitely be back.

P.S. - make sure to visit the Suspension Bridge. About a 20 minute hike....

La Manche Provincial Park in Newfoundland is a hiker's paradise, boasting lush trails and stunning views, especially from the iconic suspension bridge. The park caters to all skill levels with well-maintained paths and offers a glimpse into diverse wildlife. The sense of community among hikers enhances the experience, making everyone feel welcome. Relaxing in the picnic areas after exploring is the perfect end to a day of adventure. It's an enriching experience that beckons for a return visit, truly a must-visit for nature lovers. Better have a try here!

Spectacular views of the cliffs on one side and a lazy flowing river on the other. With the moon shining off the water and the quietness if nature, it was almost as if you were weightless as you close your eyes and listen while standing on the bridge. It was nearly dark when we arrived to the bridge so we only got to see the surroundings at dusk. But it was still very beautiful. It's not a far hike from the road either so it would make a nice family hike, with areas around the bridge where you could picnic or camp.
