Just returned from a second annual visit to this RV park which we chose once again based on location. However, it falls short of the mark. Firstly, we travel with a 5th wheel with a utility trailer following (for the toys). The long entry road can only accommodate one large trailer at a time. We prayed that we would not need to worry about passing another trailer as we cannot back up with the utility trailer attached. We found that the owner was not very welcoming. Within an hour of our arrival, we lost power. With a 30 amp service, the park cannot sustain the A/C and the hot water heater running simultaneously. So though we paid for water, hydro and sewage, we needed to run our hot water on propane; and, the rates have increased 19% over last year's rates. Golf carts and ATV's travel a lot down the road to the beach with some carts being driven quickly thus throwing up dust on patron's properties. Often a young teen was at the wheel. The beach area has two quagmires of mud - not an appealing site with another area unkept owned by a pile of branches and old logs. There appeared to be a lack of urgency by the park staff to handle maintenance of the roads and beach area. Huge ruts of mud were common on the sides of the main road leading to the beach and also in the newly opened area where only one entry was accessible as there was a mud swamp on the other side. The park has just celebrated its 50th anniversary - well done, however, the impetus needs to be on regular maintenance. Apart from seeing a decrepit trailer being disassembled in the works area, very little else happened in the 5 day stay. Though this RV park is blessed with an awesome location, I feel we will be looking for an alternate park in the...
Read moreOur family has been using Log Chateau campground for our annual family reunion for a few years. We also camp there with another couple a few times a year. The park staff are very friendly and informative. The park has a pool, hot tub, sauna, boat launch and a beach. There are seasonal as well as over nite sites available. There is a store in the park with food I e cream etc and an arcade. There is a sports field a basketball court and several play grounds. The sites in the overnight section are de entry with many having water and hydro. We had thirty people on three sites and we were not crowded. The pool is great for kids. The beach is small but quite adequate with a rope swing a short distance away. The rules are relaxed and you can take a beer to the beach or pool. There are some cabins for rent and an ATV trail runs through the park. Our family loves the park and will continue to go there. Be aware that long weekends book early. I would recommend this...
Read moreWe had a wonderful one week experience at Log Chateau Park and are planning our visit next year already! Pictured is 400G and 400H sites. Quite central to everything - the barn/store, pool, jumping pillow, laundry, bathrooms/showers. In our experience, it was quiet throughout the week but loud and full during the weekend (Fri and Sat night). A bit of a distance to walk to the “beach” but worth the little drive. Lots of sand for the kids to play in and a very refreshing sandy river to swim in. My littles wore their live vests as the river gets deep - fast! Beach fills up fast on hot days. Bathrooms were clean, showers were clean, overall a really great - family friendly park. My only teeny tiny suggestion would be better ventilation/airflow in the bathrooms - the only airflow I noticed is when the door is propped open - so on a hot day you are sweating while just going into a toilet stall for a minute - or you are sweating while drying off...
