Read moreHello... Dave on this end... I have first been to Lake Dalrymple Resorts about 40 so or more years. Multiple times yearly. The fishing is insane! I have stayed at the Meadows End, and the Layzee acres place. They now require you to own a property spot, have a trailer you purchase from the owners, and replace every 5 years... What??? I go for the fishing... (Take Buzz Baits with a YELLOW Gulpies!) is all you need. Use a worm and bobber with your kids on the lake side of the islands at the front side. Your kid will be amazed. There is a lot of kids fishing off the dock. One caught a 8lb. pickerel there last time! 8lb. bass not uncommon. I caught the biggest Muskie there about 5 years ago on those Islands. That won me a trophy and cash, from Molsen's big fish contest. The resort at Lake Dalrymple Resorts has changed from the original owner from "Chris" and his mom... (she made the best cabbage rolls and perogies). They are going through transitions.. The fishing remains fantastic, playground great... horseshoes...volley ball, ... ohh... And in the store, they have some 10-20 different of Kawartha Ice Cream Get the loaded Pizza from the Restaurant... They come around at your cottage for an order if you want. Give the employee your choice. (other deals available!) I put my order in, went fishing... Came back, and that person came back with my pizza. That is DELIVERY!!! I am LAZY. This resort...
Vacationed as a family of 6 in cottage #23 Aug 13-20/22. The cottages are all privately owned and the owners can chose to rent their units or not. During our stay it was a mix of renters and seasonal cottage owners. Most cottages circle the common ground making it the perfect place to sit back and let your kids independently play. The playground and sand box were favourites of our kids (4 & 7.) There is a horse shoe pit and a covered pavilion area.
The beach area is just across the street. It is small but clean. The resort has a floating raft and nice dock with muskoka chairs. We have a 19.5ft boat and used the boat docks with no problem. The lake is gorgeous and quiet. The fishing was a bit disappointing but we still had a lot of fun.
The cottage had 3 bedrooms with double beds, a 6 person dining table and living room. There was no A/C in our cottage. It provided the standard kitchen items, fridge, stove and microwave. The units are cleaned before each new renter. You are required to bring your own bedding and linens. They do provide pillows but we brought our own. The mattresses all have waterproof covers on them. They provide some cleaning products and a broom/dust pan.
The staff were fantastic. We visited the little store every day for...
Read moreWas looking for a place to stay during the Civic holiday weekend while most of the places were already booked. Came across this resort. Their site is user friendly and you can book a place through the booking system (for most of the places this type you need to call wich is super inconvenient). It's definitely a good value for money.Cottages are small but have everything you need. As previous guests mentioned the resort is quite big, but people around are polite and respectful. No late parties of any kind. The beach is small. It can get busy at times, but also can be very quite. Sunsets are beautiful. You can rent a boat for $140 a day and $90 for half day. Management is super responsive and efficient (was pleasantly suprized). They are around all the time and try to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Convenience store and ice cream shop is a bonus. Owners thought of lots of small details that are not mandatory but can make you stay very pleasant. You can go for a walk or drive to nearest beaches. Mara and McRae point are only 20 min drive. Overall great stay. Will definitely recommend this resort for those who look for good time...
