Fantastic Amenities and Comfortable Sites with a Few Drawbacks
I recently had the pleasure of visiting this campground and I must say, the experience was quite impressive. The standout feature for me was the exceptional WIFI service, which offered speeds of up to 300 Mbps - a rarity in many places. Although there were occasional slowdowns, the fact that it was free was a definite plus.
The newly added pool, completed in 2022, was a refreshing addition to the park. Maintained at a comfortable 82 degrees Fahrenheit and 3-4 feet deep, it was a clean and inviting spot to unwind. The availability of chairs and umbrellas added to the convenience and enjoyment. However, I did notice that on Saturdays, water was added, which resulted in an unexpectedly cold experience.
The campground's sites were thoughtfully laid out, with nicely graveled and relatively level areas. The picturesque views surrounding the area were truly awe-inspiring, adding to the overall charm of the location. It was also a convenient distance to both Harrison and Agassiz, taking just 7 and 6 minutes respectively. For those craving a meal, the availability of delivery from popular chains like Pizza Hut, Domino's, and Butter Chicken House was a pleasant surprise.
The on-site store was well-stocked with essentials, ensuring that guests had everything they needed at their fingertips. I was particularly delighted by the life-size chess board and the spacious, solid wood playground equipped with swings. The expansive open field provided ample space for various recreational activities. Additionally, the campground's inclusion of 8 cabins added a versatile accommodation option.
The maintenance of the grounds was evident in the well-manicured grass, punctuated by a variety of large trees. This created a welcoming atmosphere, suitable for families and travelers alike. The policy of allowing kids 10 and over to swim unattended was a thoughtful gesture that showed the management's consideration for families' needs.
However, a few drawbacks did arise during my stay. The proximity to the highway led to significant road noise in some areas, which could be quite disruptive, especially for those situated closer to the highway. Noise levels reached around 75 decibels at the front of the campground and around 60 decibels towards the back. Additionally, an unpleasant sewer smell near the front entrance and park was quite off-putting. Furthermore, the persistent manure smell from passing farming vehicles was a notable downside to an otherwise pleasant environment.
In terms of improvements, I would suggest the addition of lounging chairs around the pool area to enhance relaxation options. Despite the minor drawbacks, the campground's numerous amenities and comfortable sites make it a compelling destination for those seeking a well-rounded...
Read moreA nice small campground for RVs with a few cabins for rental. I parked a 19ft trailer. The RV site was spacious as compared to other private campgrounds. All back-in; no pass-thru sites though. However, the campground was on the smaller side of the spectrum.
My sister-in-law's family rented a 2-bedroom cabin. The cabin was very spacious with all standard appliances. Big kitchen with oven and microwave. A big dining table was enough for 6-8 people. Multiple TVs were in both rooms and the living room with Netflix/YouTube access. They installed portable AC this season as well. It was a must nowadays as the hot climate is getting more frequent.
The campground was well kept and facilities were quick new. the pool is clean and well maintained. Some people were complaining about strict rules but I would say the rules are reasonable. Keeping your stuff in your own rented space is no brainer. Why you need to build your own tent in the common area while others also want to enjoy? They keep the grass in a very good condition. They mow and water the grass every now and then. 11pm quiet time is very common in private campgrounds. Everyone knows private RV sites are side by side and have not much privacy. Even if you can keep your voice down, it is still disturbing to have a campfire flickering and people moving right beside your RV while you want to sleep. If you want those relaxed rules, go for a provincial park instead.
Train noise was definitely there and frequent. It was right beside a busy train track. Some hours, it could be as frequent as every 15-20 minutes and each last a couple of minutes. And the track runs 24 hours. I am quite used to this kind of white noise and so it did not bother us much. At least they were not honking. But be aware if you are sensitive to this.
In general, this is a small little well kept campground. Just 10 mins driving to Harrison Hot springs. We may return if we come to the area again...
Read moreMy husband and I just spent a long weekend at the new Pathfinder rv resort in Agassiz. It is billed as a luxury resort but it is far from it. The office staff are not friendly and when we made a mistake with our reservation (We mistakenly booked one too many nights and did not realize until we arrived) they made no attempts to help, guide us to administration or even pretend to care. The funny thing is, the place was 1/4 full (on a weekend!!) and they could have accommodated our refund because it was not as if people were chomping at the bit to get in. Good customer service would have at least worked with us. Maybe even a voucher for a stay at another time or at one of their other rv locations.... The facilities are far from ready for the price that they ask per night which is around 65/night. There were signs everywhere to stay off the grass and our mats could not be on the grass. The playground was not ready for kids. There is no where to take a dog off leash for business and they watched us like hawks as we let our dog to go the bathroom even though we always always pick up and dispose of messes. They advertise all services, but there is no cable. I will say that the wifi was amazing!! The washrooms are closed and they say that it is because of covid but how difficult is it to clean a small washroom? I work in retail and we have washrooms open for customers and we simply go throughout the day to clean 'touch points'! The office store is no where close to ready and it is a long walk into town. It is clean and new but unfriendly and too expensive! We had friends in big rigs travelling with us and they will not be returning. As we visited with our neighbors we heard the same complaints from them. I wish that they had more to offer and friendlier staff. It would have helped. I wish them all the best and hope they make the changes necessary to warrant such...
