I recently stayed 2 nights in Gite Le Refuge du Moulin d’Eau close to St-Félicien.||I can confirm: clean rooms and nice location, close to the Zoo.||I was shocked though by the attitude of our host. After the first day she told me that my family was not ‘friendly’ enough. We did not smile enough in the morning at breakfast and we did not talk a lot with the other guests. As French is not my mother tongue I was not sure I understood her well, so I repeated what she just told me. She confirmed that I did not look happy enough and she wanted her guests to be happy (“vous êtes pire que des Parisiens”). I explained her that every person has its own character and that I was not a morning person. I also explained her that it is not always easy for me to understand the Quebecois accent…||I have been traveling for 30 years in Gites, B&B, etc. all over the world. It was the first time somebody said such a thing to me. I was astonished ! No need to say that we left the next day, early in the morning – without taking breakfast (which by the way is very poor and served on throwaway cutlery; even if they claim it is 100% recyclable, it is still waist and incomprehensible for a Bed & Breakfast).||Stay away,...
