My father and I stayed here for 2 nights in August, during a trip trough Quebec. We were received very friendly. The staff was waiting for us, because apparently we were the only guests for those 2 nights.||The Pourvoirie lays 15 km deep in the forest and is completly build in wood. It has an amazing atmosphere and also is very classy. Our room was great, but there is so much more! The bar has something really cosy, there is a lot of room where one can sit and read or have a drink. One can play chess, or pool at the pool table. ||We went for the walk to 'chute des martres', it is a quite intense trip, but it is really worth it! The trip was quite intense, but is also very beautiful ! You're in pure nature and you'll become very humble towards nature, it has left an overwhelming impression on me. At the beginning of our walk, we encountered 2 black bears, a mother and it's kid we suppose. They were in the forest alongside the walking trail at maybe 20 meter. We stood still for a couple of seconds and then they ran away. After a 2 hour's walk (i think) we got a great view on the chute, where we ate our lunch. This was maybe the best walk i've had in my entire life! I really do recommend it to go and take a look at this marvelous fall !||After we got back to our rooms we went for some bear spotting. We've sat there for about 3 hours, but no bears to see. Apparently it was too hot for the bears to come Human spotting lol :p. But, in those 3 hours we had a great chat with the owner of the pourvoirie, which has learned us alot about Canada and Quebec (and went far beyond the local tourist information). So those 3 hours where totaly worth it. And becaus he was also cooking our dinner, we had teh opportunity to wait a bit longer, because there were no other guests.||We got back and went to our rooms and then went for dinner. It's the owner of the pourvoirie who cooks and this was extraordanary ! Great local food of great quality, amazing tastes. Wonderful ! ( Here again, I think I've rarely eaten a dinner of this quality, hats off!).||||This was in my opinion, the best stay we've had on our 21 day trip trough Quebec. It is just amazing, You find yourself in the middle of the woods, completely away from hasty society and you can just relax. The pourvoirie covers an increddible amount of land. And I'd love to come back once in the winter to experience it in the snow !||||Amazing, keep up the good work!||||Sven &...
Read moreThis is not so much a review of the place but of the staff. While on a saddlebag snowmobile trip, my cold turned into an ear infection which then ruptured my eardrum. I had gone to the hospital the night before and got 24 hours worth of antibiotics and a prescription for more. The staff there spoke good english, and one informed me that it was 1.5 hour drive to the nearest pharmacy as it was Sunday and the closer pharmacies were closed. She said to wait a few minutes as she was finishing her shift and may be able to help me. She asked for my prescription, called the pharmacy and handled everything for me. She then made the 3 hour return trip , paying for the prescription out her own pocket and picking up some things the pharmacist recommended. The ood and accommodations were top notch but the staff goes over and above for you!|Thank...
