I do not recommend this hotel. Paid with taxes almost $180 totally not worth it, huge overprice ( but I have to admit, that in Canada and in Quebec especially hotels become overpriced). Hotel needs full renovation, not just a patchwork. In my room 212 old and cheap shower faucet malfunctioned, called receptionist and together we somehow established acceptable temperature and water flow... Dirty and worn out carpets in the lobby. No breakfast, restaurant closed... Floor looked dirty in the room, I did not risk to walk on it barefoot. Clumsy tv remote. The only good things: noisy ac but worked, and bed sheets were clean. To the owner I recommend: please, replace shower faucet in room 212 , call a good local plumber, put Moen faucet, it is reliable and easy to use. Renovate hotel ! In Germany I stayed in B&B Hotels for half price of what I paid here, and hotel was always super clean, in order, nice design... Extra 10 euros (around 15 $ canadian) - excellent breakfast... I came to Canada first time in 1998, and I have to say that in 25 years country become worse than before. Overprice and low quality in hotel industry is one of the reasons why country becomes worse. I heard that even about 70 percent of Ukrainian refugees come to Canada, stay here for a while - and then leave, don't want to live in Canada permanently, prefer German speaking countries, Scandinavia, Poland and Czech Republic... I hope my info will help to shape your decisions about staying in this hotel and speed up hotel renovations or at least influence the adjustment of the price... In my opinion this hotel should not cost more that $90 per night.

Horrible. Check in was at 3pm, I arrived at 6, Lady asked for 20 minutes to clean room. Things happen, until I got into the room, seen the state of it, looked around to find piss on toliet which is not a good sign at all since I had to remove a “sanitized” label to open it. Then I found blood on the floor, in the sinks & splattered on the wall. Only to have reception tell me it’s hair dye from previous people. Why not give someone heads up? Cause that looks like blood. All to say we stayed 20 minutes & they charged us a full $200 of our suite for washing our hands in the sink after touching things in the room. Shame on whoever thinks this is okay, & the fact that the lady complained & tried to bill me MORE , after all of this about having to clean the room I just cancelled because I washed my hands in the sink, is disturbing, I cancelled because it was gross, I showed her pictures how did she not wish to clean it already?? Still happy to pay extra somewhere else cause this place doesn’t have standards & doesn’t care that they don’t.

Hotel l'express well what can I say... please go there and level 'express' because this place is horrible. It looks like a very old hotel that has not been cared for. The place really is run down. For non smoking rooms I found left over cigarettes in the room. I found a fly in the room I found a mosquito in the room. The walls have holes in them. I requested a pressing and was given a very dirty and burn iron. 'So these guys could not clean this stuff?' The balcony is a real mess please don't go there This is a budget place. I chose it because I was passing through so i didn't mind. It does have parking. By the way it is adjacent to a cemetery so if you are superstitious the l'express hotel is not for you

DON'T BELIEVE THE PICTURES. This is a great hotel if you are a corpse and/or meth head. Conveniently located next to a funeral home / cemetery, it smells like there are cigarette scented candles in every corner of the hotel and easily has the most questionable and sketchy clientele of any hotel i've ever been to. Creepy dude in the room next to us opened up his door to peer out at us every time we left our room, and the building looks oddly like the hotel that the hooker in Breaking Bad is always at. So that was cool. That said, the breakfast was weirdly excellent. Nothing like a solid meal before heading over to a wake at the funeral home! Also, the website says it is very close to "nearby" attractions such as the Biodome, Olympic Stadium, etc. Guess a 20 min car drive is nearby to some people. Not far in the grand scheme of things, but if you're here for anything other than a one-night stay, you're going to spend a ton of money between gas and parking if you drive into the city every day. We ended up booking another hotel (Best Western Hotel Europa) right in Downtown for about $150 (this is booking it the DAY OF, whereas we booked Hotel L'Express 2 months out) and didn't use the car once, and the hotel was honestly great. If you're passing through and have no need to be directly in the city, or have a thing for cemeteries, this place is for you. If you want relative comfort, I suggest going elsewhere. You get what you pay for, and this place was the cheapest we could find....

My family and I, arrived at the hotel around 4PM and looked forward to relaxe after a long roadtrip from Niagara to Montreal. ||At first the receptionist seemed nice and we checked in. ||The only thing we ask for is a clean room, which were the only thing we did’nt get. ||The beds were made and “cleaning seal“ on the toilet so the cleaning Ladies had been there. ||We found dirt and pieces of Food on the floor, used cleenex on top of the closer, Old food in the fridge from the previous visitors. When we looked in the bed, there were hair in it. ||We decided to leave and check out immidiately. ||The receptionist claimed that she was not aware if the cleaning had been done and went to check the room herself. She came back stating that it had not been cleaned and asked if we wanted another room. Needless to say that this is of course not true, as the beds were made and on the toilet there was a “cleaning seal band” stating that cleaning had been done. ||I asked for refund, but she would not refund anything - she just asked us to contact the booking portal ourself. Disappointed we left the hotel, that also looked a mess outside. So in short, poor service, filthy, dirty and in very very poor condition. The surroundings are terrible and the hotel appears warn out, as well and you absolutely don’t feel like eating from that place. I’d rather sleep in the car than spending 1 second at this hotel.||If I could rate this hotel with “minus-stars” I would...
