Really nice campground with big sites. However...
-When we arrived we were advised to pull in to the site so our door would face our picnic table/firepit. We backed in obviously. -New people arrived for the next site over and staff placed them completely on our site, right next to our rig rather than about 20-30ft over on their own site. We booked here despite $100/night because of the big sites! Staff then got us to move all our stuff and gave our picnic table to them. (To be fair we were told we could use the site on the other side of us as well as our own due to this) -We said to staff it was okay not to move the tenters that night as long as they wouldn't have a fire in our fire pit because it was about 3-4ft from the rv. They said they would move the fire pit ring. They didn't and completely ignored my call/text looking for clarification. They also never asked the tenters to move onto their own site the next day. They allow fires without any concerns despite a complete ban here by the fire department. -The laundry situation is strange. Apparently you have to go to the office to pay and then not use coins, but there are no signs anywhere in the laundry room stating that or even tape over the coin slots so we did it wrong... -There's no map for campers to have.
Probably won't be back. The owners don't seem to care about running it professionally. Been camping across Canada since the spring and this has been by far the worst experience. A decent owner would give us half our money back for two nights since we shared our site for 2 of the 3 nights, but I won't hold my breath on that.
FYI the booking wasn't in my name. I will delete my review if an effort is made for a partial refund. Feel free to call the booking phone number for site B38 departing today if you want to...
Read moreWe recently stayed at The Great Canadian Campground with family and had a great overall experience. We rented 4 out of 5 cabins for 3 nights, and it was a wonderful way to enjoy nature with the comforts of a cabin.
Each cabin came equipped with electrical outlets, a heater, and a fridge, which made things very convenient. While the floors could have been cleaner, the cabins were overall tidy and well-maintained. Each one had a porch swing, a queen/double bed, and a bunk bed. We brought our own pillows, blankets, and sheets, which I recommend for added comfort.
Outside each cabin, there was a fire pit, a stand-up BBQ (super helpful for families with young kids), and a water tap. The cabins were located conveniently near the front of the campground, just a short walk to the washrooms and showers.
The washrooms and showers were impressively clean and looked newly renovated. Staff were frequently seen cleaning them throughout the day. However, I do wish there were a few additions—mirrors, a bench or table in the showers to place your shower caddy, and a baby change table. The lack of a changing area was a bit of an inconvenience, especially after showers, as we had to walk the kids back to the cabin to change them.
The campground itself is spacious and full of activities. It features two playgrounds, a small basketball court (with one net), hiking and ATV trails, a heated pool, and a splash pad—although it was unfortunately closed during our stay, which was disappointing for the younger kids. There’s also a large air jumping balloon, volleyball nets, and even a dog park.
One of the best surprises was the on-site golf course—and it’s completely free to use!
All in all, we had a great time and would definitely consider...
Read moreMy fiance and I recently stayed at Great Canadian campgrounds I was looking forward to seeing what the new owers had changed since the previous owner, they definitely added a lot more things for kids to do all new playground plus pool and mini golf. Unfortunately our weekend was rained out and our site became pretty soggy our site was in the lowest spot the site was a good size width 30 amp service and water there wasn't any kind of events going on on the weekend one of the owners that we talked to is super friendly and did talk to a couple of the seasonals they were friendly as well. It is a dog-friendly Park unfortunately there is no Unleashed area. The downside we found is that there is a lot of ATVs and gas-powered golf carts that drive around quite a bit most of them did Drive relatively slow unfortunately it was quite noisy we were on the south side of the campground where they go to get in the trails I think it would be a really good idea to put the transits on the north side of the park even if transients came in with ATVs you would only hear them coming and going not necessarily driving through the whole park
So with all this being said I realize its new ownership and there's always ways to improve... I believe my review fare and best for...
