My family and I arrived on Monday August 7th 2017 2 adults and 3 children. Our stay was for 3 nights. When I arrived i paid in cash. I was told by the young man at the desk my room might not be ready. This was shortly after 3 pm which is check in time. I was sent to cabin number 5 which i went too and it wasnt clean, so after returning to the desk i asked what was going on they said the other cabin was ready. At this point im totally inconvienced and i have tired kids in the car that need to rest. Finally after the front desk go their crap together i finally got my cabin 20 minutes later. The cabin wasnt bad clean and well stocked I was cool with that but the beds were hard as a rock to sleep on need serious improvement on that part and the grounds need improvement from the tennis court to the old scary run down building behind the park and trampoline area. That trampoline isnt all that safe either no net around it. Maintenance and the cleaning lady Patricia was fantastic and I thank them. But as soon as i was settled in my cabin about an hour into my stay my credit card was charged the full amount after i paid cash. I was FURIOUS! I marched to the desk and the man by the name of Brody, same guy that took my cash was the one who charge my credit card. I said to him what gives?? He replied he he ha ha that was me and didnt really apologize. I was NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED! I replied back and said well nice try there was only 3 bucks on there anyway. And i asked about the breakfast if it was included or not he said it was, but i wasnt imformed that in the begining before booking. He said tp come back in the morning and get a coupon for the meal. I asked well why not hand me the coupon now so i dont have to bother anyone in the morning so my family and i can go to the continental breakfast. He replied stunned and said uh ok sure...like seriously get your act together buddy i mean wholy how dense are you? So after my 3 day stay on thursday August the 10th my family and I checked out as I was heading to the front desk to check out and give back my key the young lady told me i still owes a balance on my cabin. I looked at her and she was very friendly and said are you for real? I paid $800.00 $100.0 dollar bills on monday got my recipt and change back and you tell me I still owe money? I was floored and very disappointed and not a happy customer. I told the girl no I do not owe you ANYTHING I paid in full what the heck are you talking about?? Anyway this is the point of my argument the staff and management needs to get their act together because this is not only unprofessional but very much lacking clarity on information. And I cant prove it but I believe that gentlemen was trying to rip me off once I paid cash and then proceed to charge my credit card. And perhaps pocket that cash somehow? I will not be returning unless this facility's management improve DRAMATICALLY. Im a paying customer and there are DOZENS OF OTHER CABINS TO CHOOSE FROM.|At this point in time I do NOT recommend this place. Its too bad because its a quiet...
Read moreThis place deserves negative stars and the staff are terrible people. To begin, the lady at the front desk is unfriendly and rude. She first told us, “if you want a refund, we do not offer them”. We arrived at our cabin (cabin 5) late at night and noticed some things, but we were willing to turn a blind eye; bugs on the floor and in the shower, makeshift blinds; a bounty paper towels and period pads holding them up. We were going to let this go and laughed it off. So we went to bed, but when we woke in the daylight we realized how filthy the cabin was. The floors were so black we had to leave our slippers and socks! The bed sheets smelled of must and mold. My sister had to take her puffer for asthma multiple times throughout the duration of our stay. There was also no hot water to shower and properly wash dishes. I will attach pictures - it was gross and maybe not even cleaned since previous guests. Not pictured is the mold, and the horribly musty smell, and to top it all off, maggots in the shower drain! 🤢When it was time for us to BBQ, ours did not work. We tried the cabin next door - no luck. Lastly we tried the communal BBQ and it was too dirty and infested with bugs ( attached photo of dead bugs). We called the front desk, and the man who owns Memotree came to “fix” our BBQ. When he arrived we also mentioned the other problems encountered (dirt, bugs, smell). He continued to walk around to multiple cabins (probably 4-5 different cabins) and none of them worked! Clearly not well maintained and he blamed the filth of the communal BBQ on the previous guests instead of taking accountability. After waiting 45+ minutes he finally brought us a BBQ that worked. He then said he was going to “solve the cleaning problem”. We expected a sensible fix but this was far from that. He left and came back with a woman who “cleans” the cabins. They brought a bunch of chemical cleaners, expecting us to pause eating our BBQ, wake our 7-month-old baby and get out. We explained this was not the “fix” we expected and it was unacceptable. We expected the cabin to be cleaned prior to arrival! After back and forth, and no accountability, the lady who cleans began laughing at us and being extremely unprofessional. When we said this was not okay and very rude, they told us we should just get out. They raised their voices at us and treated us like we were not paying customers. Of course we could not get out as the baby was already asleep and everywhere else was booked. We travelled 7 hours to be treated like this and paid over $600 for two nights in this dump! Save your time, money, and health. The owners will never take accountability - take a look at their responses to guests who express concern in their reviews. This place is a dump that has potential to be nice with...
Read moreWe just spent the night in the king suite for our honey moon and unfortunately we will not be back. The room was very nice and clean, and the staff were very kind however there is so much false advertising on their website and we left feeling ripped off. We paid nearly $300 for our room but initially felt it was reasonable considering it was a king suite and would have a restaurant, heated pool, and room service on-site. While the website does list all of these things as available to guests, they are not actually available unless you are part of a bus tour. Firstly, the pool is advertised as heated but it is not, i am a life guard and love the water cold or warm, but the pool was so cold that it hurt our skin and we could not actually get in, which made sense why it was empty for our whole stay. When we inquired about room service we were told that is not offered at the hotel, but it is clearly listed on their website. When we asked what time the restaurant would be open we were told that guests were not allowed to use the restaurant and that it was only for people doing the bus tours, the vending machines were also locked in the restaurant. There was a book in the nightstand with other services that the hotel offered, one of them being DVD rentals, it said to see the front desk for them. When we went to the front desk, she said the book is old and that they don’t offer DVD’s and they have no way to rent movies in the room what so ever anymore. We were very disappointed to pay so much money and have almost nothing listed included. We were thankful to have only been 10 minutes from all main attractions and restaurants in cavendish which made it easy to have our needs met and we also really enjoyed the jacuzzi in our room. However we could never justify paying that much money again for false advertising. Very unfortunate as we would have loved to return to the spot we honeymooned on our...
