Site itself was decent, though sites are a bit close to each other for my taste. First evening was quiet at 10pm, which was great, but in the morning, very loud music began at 8am in neighbouring site. The music was being played by a group of young guys and after a little while, i politely said to them - "i know you are chilling, but the music is a bit loud for me on a Sunday morning, I’m just waking up." The guys were very polite and turned the music down and asked if the volume was better. No conflict. However, as I began to walk away, a woman at an unrelated neighboring site began to yell. "turn it up! Turn it up! " and then began to blast her own music while demonstratively dancing in my direction like a clown. A short time Later, when one of the women from the offending site walked past ours, my partner asked why they had turned the music up in response… She did not have much to say.. A short while after that, the camp host came by on an ATV to say that he had heard that we are “going around, asking sites to turn their music down.“ I explained what had actually happened to the host and he then told us that we are not allowed to address fellow campers and that we must come to the camp host with any issues. (Fair enough) He then proceeded to tell us that music volume is not to be controlled between 8 AM and 10 PM and that campers can play the music as loud as they want to during that time.
We also listen to music when we camp, however, the idea that fellow campers can blast their music for the entire campsite to hear without any intervention by the campsite host is ridiculous, and even more ridiculous was the retaliatory behavior of the women from the unrelated site. No manners. It later became clear that these people are actually friends of the hosts and were socializing with them and had reported us to the host.
I would not recommend this site if you are looking to enjoy a peaceful getaway in nature. It is clear that this site does not promote common decency and is for...
Read moreThe campsite we stayed in was pretty good. I won’t be going back though due to my experience with the hosts. They wouldn’t let me drop off my gear at the site because I arrived in a visitor vehicle and told us to park in the visitor parking lot, which they blocked off with cones. All they did was just sit in their site and repeated “visitors can’t drive through”. They didn’t care to remove the cones for us or give us better directions, and expected us to walk with our heavy gear from our car to the site when it would’ve just taken a few minutes to drive in and drop off our gear. It was also the worst wildfire season on record and they didn’t bother going around the campsites at night to make sure there were no campfires, since the campsite across from us had a...
Read moreI would 10/10 recommend this campsite!! While it may be the less popular one to go to out of the other campsites, as it doesn’t have a lake, it was a very short drive back down to Stave which wasn’t a problem at all. Both times we visited we were able to find great spots without having reservations. The host was very welcoming and kind, and took great care of the grounds. I was impressed by how clean the outhouses were- having very minimal odours. During my stay I saw the host cleaning the outhouses at least 2x daily which was great. Just remember to bring TP, not all of the outhouses were equipped with it. We also met the host’s dog Harley, who was very...
