Always had good childhood memories here for swimming. Came here this year to stay in their deluxe cabin.
The cabin was pretty nice, the "secluded" lot was pretty closed in except on one side, which was right up against the neighbours. If you opened the window in the bathroom, you were looking at the neighbours gazebo. Unsure how much the secluded wording fits.
The deluxe cabin had sliding doors to separate the rooms. The bathroom door didn't sit quite in the right spot so was tough to close. The cabin and it's bathroom is certainly NOT wheelchair accessible.
Nice lake, sand bottoms. They now have leeches so make sure to bring salt. Most people respect the 15km/hr speed limit.
Helpful and friendly staff at the front, bilingual as well. This year the big water slide was broken, but that's okay - things happen.
Very busy and bustling during the days when the weather is warm. The few camp sites I saw did not have much privacy and were beside walkways and roads.
This park is INCREDIBLY quiet in the evenings. It's quite shocking, around 8:30pm you suddenly don't hear anybody.
Has a lovely view of the stars. They offer some drive in lots, and a lot of...
Read moreSuper awesome campground for the kids! There are two lakes with multiple beaches and multiple water slides. The campground is large with a new section in the back. Stayed only one night in July but stayed two nights on my way back across Canada. I have a large 5th wheel - 37' and it wasn't an issue maneuvering into my spot on the single night stay. A very large pull thru was available for the two day stay. Both locations had 50A service and good water pressure. Wifi is available, but you only get one free hour, for one device and the rest you have to pay for. Fortunately, the cell sevice is good and data speed was fine. The food is great at the little cantina, but avoid, at all costs, pizza from the restaurant in Moonbeam. Worst.Pizza.Ever. And for the price it should've been, as they claimed the best around. It's also the worst around, because they are the only one around. But I digress. Top marks for this campground, as I would return -...
Read moreI stayed there over a long weekend for the Kapuskasing Lumberjack Fest with my dad and his wife. We were staying in two tents on one lot. We absolutely loved staying there. There was a fire pit, picnic table, water, and electricity (the grounds had an adapter since it was an RV plug). The water was nice, all the facilities clean. The bathrooms were always tidy and the price was fair for a shower. My only concern at all was the fact my father is disabled and it was imperative that we were close to a restroom because he can't walk very far and instead we were far enough away that anytime he had to go, his wife and I had to try and load him in the car. You can understand where we would struggle with that at midnight. Anyway, the campground was overall nice and had a great sense...
