Our recent stay was very comfortable. I am so glad we chose Thriftlodge after not expecting to need a room in Moose Jaw on a Saturday night. We got our key from a friendly gentleman after arriving past 12:15 am and found a clean room, cozy bed and so many things to allow for a happy stay. We appreciated the breakfast that was included in the reasonable room rate and the location right beside the highway is great for travellers that want a convenient place to stop for the night. Thank you 😀👍

Great stay for a reasonable price, the front key people were very accommodating. The room was big it was a double with a kitchenette, it was coean and to modern standards. Right by the highway. Will be staying again, thanks very much the stay was great

The hotel was very disappointing. the first impression was already negative at the booking stage. before booking I contacted the hotel to clarify whether it is possible to come with a pet (on the website it says that the hotel is pet friendly, we have a cat). the employee on the phone spoke English poorly with 10 times he told me that yes, they can come with a cat, I also clarified whether it will be possible to park the car with a trailer, I was told that yes. After booking another hotel employee called me and told me that they were not pet friendly and that I had to cancel my reservation. I chose to book without the option to cancel, which is why I called the hotel ahead of time to clarify. The hotel staff said that I did not specify the first time that they had only ONE pet friendly room. But how was I supposed to know that? There is no such information on the website, and the hotel employee did not mention it the first time. After a very unpleasant conversation with the employee, I was informed that they would try to find another room and call me in two days. After two days the hotel did not call, and after a month too. They did not answer my calls. We had to leave the cat and go without him. We arrived at the hotel at exactly 11 o'clock at night, the reception was supposed to work until then, but the doors were closed, no one answered the phone. After 20 minutes of trying to call and get through, a staff member came out of the room (it was obvious that he was asleep). During check in he informed us that we could not be here with the trailer. This made me very angry, because I had also clarified this issue in advance. In the end, he allowed me to leave the car with the trailer behind the hotel on the grass. About the rooms, the picture and reality are very different. The room was very dirty, it did not smell nice, in the bathtub pipes were sticking out of the ceiling, the door was not closed. There are also a lot of insects in the room. We couldn't rest and left there right at dawn. We are very disappointed. The price is very overpriced considering the service and conditions. Please give the staff a briefing before they pick up the phone and answer questions. If a staff member could answer questions properly on the first call, we would not have booked a room at this...

Let's face it - no Thriftlodge is ever going to be The Ritz. However, the Thriftlodge in Moose Jaw is fantastic value! We stayed for a week in June 2016. Our room was recently updated with 2 queens, flat screen TV, table/chairs, full washroom, and a kitchenette (with Keurig machine, oven, fridge, sink - as well as plates/cutlery/pots/pans etc). The room was large, clean, and convenient. The rates are amazing for what you get. The fact that the hotel is dog friendly is extremely handy. There is greenspace to walk the dog and convenient bins for the waste.

Breakfast is typical continental - toast, bagels, coffee, juice, yogurt, muffins, cereal etc. What more do you need/expect?

I had no trouble with noise from other guests or the highway. My only suggestion is for the room to have a few more kitchen utensils (sharp knife, baking sheet, and cheese grater were all missing).

I would recommend the Thriftlodge for anyone needing a no-frills place to stay. Its location on the highway is great for passers-through, but it's also great for locals who might need a staycation or to escape renovations or relatives for an...

So in truth, when I rolled into this location I was neither impressed nor worried but thought okay, it's off the hiway, an older location to be sure but the woman at the office was great. The rooms are highly under-rated as I was in the south wing if you want to call it that, was updated and in truth, very clean and well put-together. Put it in perspective - this location really only gets east bound traffic and migrant workers I suspect but it is well worth the price of admission. Very quiet, I could not hear any traffic from the hiway, perhaps if you are in the north wing maybe but I didn't get any noise. Breakfest is continental style, typical but very clean, organized and again, quiet. I have stayed in a lot of places in Canada and the USA, high end, cruddy low end, and this location is right smack dab in the middle. Great for business travels who are looking for a bed and quiet, and for those who work...
