Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Truly Accessible or Hospitable
I booked a stay at the Days Inn in Edmundston based on its advertised amenities, including accessibility for disabled guests. However, this claim was misleading. There are no elevators in the building, making it very difficult for anyone with mobility issues to navigate. The only stairway is carpeted and in dire need of cleaning and shampooing, which made carrying luggage up and down both unpleasant and unsafe.
The condition of the room was unacceptable. The bed cover was stained with blood on one side and what appeared to be fecal matter on the other — absolutely inexcusable and unhygienic. The bathroom had no hand soap, the sink did not drain very well (a simple hand washing took over 10 minutes for the sink to drain), there looked like what appeared as a very old and worn out bathtub mat (did not even try to touch that), and there was hair on both the toilet seat and the floor, indicating that it had not been properly cleaned. The TV had very limited channels, offering little in the way of entertainment.
While the receptionist at check-in was somewhat helpful, she told me that she was the only staff member on duty, which is hard to believe for a functioning hotel. She gave me a new bed cover but told me that I had to change it - very unprofessional! Her English was adequate, but for a front desk position, a higher level of fluency should be expected.
The included breakfast was disappointing — the food was lukewarm at best, and the dining area (located in the lobby) was unorganized and dirty.
During checkout, I had to carry my luggage down the stairs in multiple trips due to the lack of an elevator. On my final trip to the car, I passed a group of five staff members smoking right in front of the hotel’s main entrance. I greeted them politely, but was completely ignored — they looked at me and said nothing. It was disrespectful and unprofessional.
Finally, the two receptionists at check-out didn’t even acknowledge me - too busy chatting with each other to offer a simple, “Thank you for staying.”
The price of the room was definitely inflated when one looks at the overall conditions of the hotel, rooms, and lack of accessibility for guests.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and I cannot recommend this location to anyone — especially those looking for a clean, courteous, or truly accessible stay.
I hope management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary changes.
Management should take more pride in the hotel and the Wyndham brand.
** I just read your response and it is obvious that it was AI generated as it wasn't even properly signed by someone to take accountability and responsibility for this horrible experience. You forgot to insert hotel information as AI has guided you to do so.
This reply only shows how unprofessional and insincere this hotel management is!

Read moreIf I could leave 0* I would. While there was a nice breakfast included in the price, and the price for the room itself is decent, I would not recommend for my family or friends to stay here. The staff is professionally polite, not friendly or helpful. We were having breakfast and the employee was removing items as it was almost 11am. Not once did she ask us if we needed anything or if we needed anything else. Further they made a bunch of excuses for not cleaning our room. We didn’t have a “do not disturb” sign on the door and the excuse they gave us was that they knocked on the door, no one answered so they didn’t know if it was to be cleaned or not. Last but not least, while the room was “tidy” there were cobwebs on all of the lamps, the shower head did not shift, and the alarm clock didn’t work. If it wasn’t Christmas, and so cold outside, I would have checked out and gone elsewhere. I would not reccomend this place to anyone who doesn’t speak French, or anyone who looks different. You will be made to feel out of place. Find a bigger city to stay in, and travel here. It is definitely beautiful in Edmundston, but I did not enjoy staying at this property, or the way we were treated. —CONTINUED— I just checked out and dealt with Mylene. I explained to her my concerns, and again I got the same shody excuses as we got last night. —It was Christmas so the cleaning crew wanted to go home and while they are normally on the property until 5pm, they left early yesterday. She told me that the cleaning crew knocked on the door and when no one answered they left because they didn’t know what to do. Is the general rule of thumb to knock, and if no one answers, and there is no “do not disturb sign” on the door, to go in and clean?! That has been my experience with other brands and properties. I also shared my other concerns about the cob webs and shower head, and basically she dismissed my concerns, didn’t really care what I was saying, and said “sorry you didn’t have a good experience.” She mde no effort to offer something for the concerns I had, and basically wanted me gone. This was a terrible experience, and like I said, if you don’t speak French, and look like the general population of Edmundston, DO NOT stay at this property. Go into Fredricton, to a different property and travel into Edmundston for whatever your needs are. You will have a better experience and not be treated like second class citizens. Worst hotel...

I was asked 3 times by front office staff if I was booked under another name even though they could clearly see the printed confirmation of my name, confirmation #, and account/invoice number, all clearly obvious on their letterhead.
I was travelling with 2 other family members and a dog, and I was further informed there were no pet friendly rooms available for that night. The front desk lady told me her Manager, Luc St. Pierre would be in soon and I could speak with him further. I opted to wait.
When Mr. Luc St. Pierre arrived he could clearly see on my printout that I had a confirmed reservation for a pet friendly room, yet he asked me if I would be booked under another name. I said no, and in fact I had confirmed it via another lady in March 2023, whom I was then informed, “no longer works here”. There was never any apology from him, and he spoke with me in a very condescending tone, making me feel that it was my error, not the booking clerk’s error.
He said he could upgrade on the second floor with a King bed and sofa bed for 3 people. I reminded him we had a dog with us and he said “we don’t have beds for dogs”, and “I’m giving you an upgrade for the same price as you would have paid with your original reservation”.
I opted to take the upgraded room as were tired after travelling all day, however, after speaking with my travel companions, OUTSIDE IN THE DAYS INN PARKING LOT, we agreed that we needed 2 Queen beds for a comfortable night’s sleep, not a sofa bed and a King bed. I went back inside after being gone less than 30 minutes and informed the front desk staff I wanted to cancel the booking and get a refund on my credit card. She called Luc St. Pierre, the Manager, over and he had the gall to say “have they been in the room because we’ll need to check that we can still rent it out”.
When the front desk clerk proceeded with refund, she asked Luc St. Pierre if she was doing it correctly, and he used a very condescending tone with her as well!
The front office lady was pleasant to me at all times and I made sure to thank her. Why is Luc St. Pierre in a managerial role in...
