Country Side B&B was very nice. We had the main floor suite with our own sitting room.||We brought our dog as he was allowed. What we did not count on was how he made strange !!! We could not leave him in the room alone because we felt he would just bark with anxiety and annoy everyone||Breakfast was geared to another couple of which the wife was vegan. My husband looks forward to sausages and eggs etc. No, not getting that. To be honest, I quite liked the breakfast of fresh fruit from the farm, waffles with peach preserves, peach muffins, fresh cherry juice and coffee.||We did not even make it to Niagara on the lake, but a smaller town where we stopped at the local ice cream store and devoured delicious ice cream, I think from Kawartha Dairies.||My sleep was interrupted by our dog arguing with a K Cup of coffee wrapped in gauze. He dug that out of the garbage. I got up to see what the grunting and growls were all about and I saw Harry (dog) had something backed into the corner by the door. Without my glasses on, all I could make out was a fuzzy grey thing in the corner with a bunch of dark stuff all around it. holy Hannah !!! I thought he had caught a mouse !!!||Being the braveheart that I am, I grabbed my umbrella and started poking at the grey mass. Finally, I was close enough to realize that what he had wrestled with was a K Cup coffee pod with the coffee scattered all around||I have failed to mentioned, mind you, that Harry is a twenty five pound Bichon with no more bravery than I have.||All in all, we did enjoy our one night stay and next B&B foray will be...
Read moreWe had a 2 night stay here, location was great, surrounded by fruit trees, vineyards, farm animals, very peaceful.||||We had the ground floor suite as originally we were going to take our 2 dogs.||||The ground floor suite was a good size and had a nice sitting room where you can see the fields.||||The reason I am only giving a 3 star is because of the following:||||1. No COVID-19 safety measures in place other than hand sanitizer.||It was just one dining room table no 6ft distancing. The first morning we had breakfast with the host a little strange.||Second morning we chose to have breakfast in our bedroom as another couple arrived, where they are high cases of COVID-19 and the host wanted us to all sit around a small table together, mmm thinking not.||||We should have been spaced out I found this not to be acceptable. We are not from the same family, household.||||The breakfast was good, plentiful but COVID-19 needs to be taken into consideration here.||||2. Room outdated, furniture is old, hairs in bathtub.||||3. Towels looked old and grey looking||||4. Bed comfy, good...
Read moreWe chose this place because they except dogs and we wanted to be on a farm. On the day of check in, the owner called me to ask when I would be coming because she had to go out.( It was Easter weekend) I was a little confused why I had to be involved with her personal plans, with some phone silence she finally said she would leave instructions on the door how to get in. There was a beautiful cat waiting on the stairs and started hissing at my dog. My dog is very old, he is mostly deaf and blind. he fell down the stairs when the cat tried to swipe at him. My son started to cry and was very scared. When we finally made it to the room the cat tried to scratch the door while hissing and cat growling. At that point we felt we had to leave, we ran out of the house just as the owner came home. She did not seem to understand what had happened and was very upset that I did not pay for the room anyway. Perhaps this was an isolated incident but felt I...
