Unfortunately I do not share in the same positive experiences as the others. Not sure if it is the new ownership? I had heard great things about this site before coming and my family and I were thrilled for our week at the cottage. I just got back to Ottawa after a very unsatisfying experience. We actually left after just one night due to a safety issue. The stove top was dirty which led to smoke when making pasta. This did not trigger the fire alarm which I found unusual. After cleaning up, I decided to check the smoke detector. There was NO BATTERY!!! I called the owner who told me it was 1030 at night and she was in bed and couldn’t do anything. She lives on site... I told her this was against the law and that it would be reported. I informed her that my family and I were leaving and expected a refund. She got defensive.. she came about 30 mins later and told me she has two kids. I said yes and I have four and their lives were at risk. She told me I was over reacting... hmm excuse me but if cottage caught fire we wouldn’t wake up.. OVERREACTING??? She told me this was all just an excuse to leave and get a refund. Are you kidding me?? Yes I really want to drive to Ottawa at 11 pm. She told me there was a battery in it. She brought her detector and didn’t even know how to insert the battery or where detector was located!!! So don’t tell me it was there before!! By the time she came with a detector after telling me she couldn’t do anything, we were half packed and ready to go home. Our linen wet and dry all thrown together in a bag. Our cottage week has been ruined and my kids are incredibly disappointed!! DO NOT...

From booking our trip, to pulling in and then everything in between, the staff were exceptional at helping to make our groups stay one of the best.

We had originally booked site D35, but when calling to inquire if there had been a cancellation and see if we could move to a pull through closer to our group, they quickly offered the perfect site for us. Their internet options were great and very cost friendly, but could only be used on one device the entire time, so you would have to buy multiple wifi passwords if you needed it on more than one device. Working remote, the signal worked perfectly for what we needed.

This was a very family friendly campground with beautiful beach access that you could walk quite a ways out and park your chair in the water or lounge on a floaty. The beach was clean and seasonal campers were friendly.

The washrooms and showers were kept clean and tidy. They were never far away from any of the spots.

The store on the property had icecream and slushies that the kids throughly enjoyed. The costs in the store were priced well for the convenience.

The garbage and recycling area was always kept clean, if a bin was full and you went back later in the day, it was already removed.

The whole group of us (5 families) all really enjoyed our stay and are already planning to come...

Have been coming to GLPC for 3 years now I think! This summer we finally got a waterfront site and it sure did not disappoint! Yes the sites are close to each other with not a ton of privacy but it's MORE than worth it to be right on the water! So beautiful there!

Every time I have been there, the service in the camp store/office and elsewhere on the grounds has been excellent! From the booking, to check in and check out reminders etc, coming here is a great overall experience! The seasonal campers are all very warm and welcoming too.

We love the walking trail and the finished dog parks too. Those have automatic waterers in them, garbage cans and picnic tables. But the highlight is always Golden Lake. The water and beach is great, sandy and shallow which is perfect for kids and floaties, paddleboards. I noticed people were able to launch their boats/seadoos at the boat launch and bring them in front of their campsites and anchor them in the water. No bringing them on the beach which is understandable! But how convenient is that! Oh and can't forget to mention the super cute resident ducks/geese!

I have booked another waterfront site again and will keep coming back to GLPC until we finally get our own waterfront property. Wonderful place to relax and...

Campground is nice a little closely packed but it's clean people are friendly. Only 1 draw back was the $8. charge for booking ahead I am not sure if this is common practice however it seems to me a gouging practice when people want to make sure there will be a site waiting after you drive over an hour paid gas and where and tear on your equipment as well as time. Gas is not cheap. We will not be back because of this unfair practice. If I had realised it before hand I would have gone elsewhere.

Beautiful park with loads of waterfront, however the seasonal campers have those front sites but on the drivethru row behind you can still view the lake. The drivethru are really nice large sites. If your trailer is under 25ft you can find a water site however there are not many available if you are larger. The staff are all very nice and accommodating. We plan on returning sometime next year we enjoyed a lovely late summer weekend.
