The Motel is located 7 km north of the University of Nipissing on Hwy 11. If you are doing business at the school, this makes this venue one of the most affordable and comfortable to stay at.
The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much for them to do. All their care is rendered with courtesy and every problem is handled personally and immediately.
My check in was simple and flawless. My room was more than I expected. It was not dated. Fresh paint, tastefully appointed, modern bathroom and fixtures took me back. I had two queen beds instead of one and without a price increase.
TV, Internet and all appliances worked.
I had three issues. I couldn't figure out the remotes. I called the office and it was handled immediately and personally by the owner and he did so pleasantly.
The ceiling lights did not work. The supplied my room with two extra lamps immediately. Problem solved.
The coffee maker had not been cleaned after the previous customer left. I wasn't happy about that but I cleaned it myself. Problem solved.
Lastly, on my second day, the manager called to see if there was anything I needed. I asked for a box of tissues, a power bar and two more packets of hot chocolate and more sugar. It arrived in less that three minutes.
I'm going back. I'm bringing my family. I recommend this Motel highly....
Read moreWell i have been here off an on all of Sept. Iv been in 3 different rooms and they are roomy, clean and cozy feeling. i loved that the 2 rooms had amazing soaker tubs. Im a PSW so there was times i was dead tired came home and just relaxed, the owners are very friendly and easy to talk with. As i was here for work they gave me a break on my rooms and me in return looked after my room. i know i didnt have too. If I needed extra towels not at problem. the housekeeping was really prompt. If your not looking for fancy just a nice rest stop this is the place to be. Between you and me book room 8 or 2 those tubs were awesome. Unfortunately not pet friendly, and im sad to say ill miss staying here as i found a rental house. No there wasnt breakfast but a nice restaurant up the road or take the drive into North Bay. it was great for me, i bought food and drinks and ate microwaved dinners and salad and chicken wraps. Thank you for your kindness and making sure i always had a room. ||Shelley Sovie...
Read moreSomewhere on the stretch of the Trans-Canada heading south toward North Bay there is a sign that advertises rooms for $49.99 at the Bay Motel. Of course I knew that they probably only have ONE such room and the rest are a bit more money but I needed a place to crash, since all of the campgrounds north of here were closed for the season. I pulled in just after dark and gee whiz there was only one room left, for $89.00, what a surprise. But I took it anyways, not being desirous of more time on the highway. The room did not smell fresh, like it had probably been smoked in (and there was an ashtray just outside the door), and it was evidently quite an old motel and a pretty tired room. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in adjoining rooms, not to mention the highway. But the wifi was reliable, the sheets were clean and the hot water was hot, so these are always...
