It wasn’t great but it wasn’t completely horrible. The girls at the front asked for all the campers names that were staying on the sites (we booked 2) so they had them all. All they needed to pay for was a parking permit. Which was $13. But yet some people were being charged $17 and some were being charged $13... why is that? The first 2 cars were free as we had 2 campsites, then the next (3rd) was $13, the 4th was $17, the 5th was $17 and the 6th was $13. The 6th car was told she wasn’t able to come in because we had already exceeded our parking permits, but 2 cars had already left so we only had 4 on our site before the last person arrived. So we had to prove to them that they left so she could come in for $13 instead of $17. The girls at the front were very inconsistent in pricing and what they were telling everyone coming in on our sites. Our campsite was dirty with garbage on it when we got there and had plastic in the fire pit so we obviously needed to clean the site before and after our use. We drove around for 15 minutes trying to find the pool because one staff member told us to follow the sign to the 400s and we would find it there. When really, the 2 parks aren’t connected. You have to go on the highway which is super inconvenient. I want to go camping and get away, not go on the highway to get to the pool. We ended up swimming for 20 minutes because they close at 6pm.. that’s pretty early on a hot day if you ask me. EDIT: it seems that the “owner” always blames the patrons for not researching the park before hand. The girl at the front knew who was coming as we gave them their names and she ensured us that we wouldn’t go over our “limit”. So YES, if you’re thinking of camping here, please do your research and just pick another park that won’t blame you for not researching their facilities. I should have just listened to the reviews I saw before I booked. Their website says you can have 2 free cars and 2 cars that you pay for on the campsite and it says all cars after that are over flow, but it doesn’t say they’ll get charged $17 for the day rate and when I called to ask before my stay and just now after reading their reply, they said it would be $13. Maybe train your staff to relay the same information you’re replying with on...
Read moreWe stayed in the campground with our RV for two nights. We only went to the camping side of the park. There was good privacy between sites and it was quiet. It was a short drive to the Bronte GO train station with lots of parking so it was easy to get to the city. We did not use the bathrooms. Minus a star because… At check in we were just told we were all set and waved in. The woman required our site number and said she could not check us in by name which was strange but I was able to get it from my email and then she had my name. We drove almost all the way to the campsite and found that water and dumping was at the front which was not well marked nor communicated on the way in. Water and dumping are single stations in a row on one narrow lane. There was a waiting line when we drove out on a Monday morning but thankfully didn’t need to dump or fill that time. The fresh water flow is slower than I’m used to but the water seemed very clean. Electric for sites has a couple of problems: Electric is by the road, not near where you will want to set up, so make sure you have a proper extension cord. Our post supported two sites, and the post has one 30A, one 50A, and a couple of 20A outlets. The person next door already used the 30A but I had a 50 to 30 adapter (it’s ok, the RV’s circuit cuts at 30A) and a 30A extension. So… adapter, surge protector, and two cables to get to the RV. Make sure you have adapters and extension coming here. If neighbors both have 50A on their rigs, someone is going to be limited to 30A. I’ve never needed so many electrical pieces to connect at any other place. More connections means more potentially exposed connectors, and more risk of fire. Hope if there are future improvements the park will...
Read moreThis place is a Hidden Gem inside of a city! We booked here last minute and are so glad we did!
The campgrounds are spacious and not crammed in like we are typically used to seeing in the US!
I've seen a lot of the reviews complaining about all of the rules, but that's actually what makes it so wonderful. You can actually enjoy yourself and enjoy nature while being respectful of those around you.
Even though we have an RV, the shower is small, so we use theirs, and it was absolutely wonderful. We had easily found all of the restrooms and showers, etc. because there are fresh mowed paths and well marked signs to guide us.
There is a ton of nature around. Area has many native plants filling all the nooks and crannies. It literally couldn't be more well groomed.
We ended up staying at site 113. They do not have direct water hookups but do have electricity. But there are plenty of waterspouts available to fill up if needed. Each of the sites has a little mowed area, a dirt or gravel drive, a fire pit, and a picnic table.
There are plenty of grocery stores around to get all that you need. And the camp store has a few odds and ends. And I think they had the driest firewood I've ever seen offered at a campsite!
The staff was very nice, everything was well kept and clean. I would definitely come back to this area and have a nice relaxing stay! We are so glad we stumbled upon it.
You even get free access to the park that is attached to this. If you have to go around to a different entrance, but there are lots of trails and lots of...
