This review was written during the Covid 19 Pandemic so it does not accurately reflect this park during normal times. Quite simply this is a great park! The proximity to Kingston cannot be beat. The park is well maintained, and the friendliness/helpfulness of the KOA team was fantastic. One of the campers in a neighbouring site had a waterhose problem, the store did not have one in stock but management lent them one from their personal unit. There are no direct sewer hook-ups but the pump wagon comes by regularly and there are three dump stations on the way out of the park. There is a miniature golf, horseshoe pit and a gigantic playing field. They have “go-cart” rentals that proved to be extremely popular. Our site was 653 steps from the K&P Rail Trail. If you have a bicycle it is an easy 15km ride to Kingston. Because this is a rail trail it is fairly flat so it is also great for running.

We had a great time camping, we had 3 sites for rent and a cabin. Tent sites were clean and great size, the cabin was awesome! Had Ac and tv. the washrooms were not too far away, they only had 3 washrooms working, they have rental bikes for kids, its really cheap! Sites were great, had electricity and water. Very convenient. They have an amazing soccer field and volleyball court. Would recommend getting cabin more then tent site, the cabin area is more trees and has a better look.

Positives: The staff can be very nice depending on who you get (some are amazing and one offered for me to borrow their charging cable which was really sweet) and its a quite place. They have a lot of family activities. Its a nice place to chill and relax. The pool is very nice and relaxing if you go when it is less busy. People there are quite friendly and will chat if you are willing. The store has everything you need and fun things too, but can be quite expensive. On the weekends there are activities to do that are free, more when COVID is not happing. It’s close to town so if you have a car you can explore and get anything you need. They do ice cream most years, just not the last two, that is always fun and for a good cause. Negatives: I have been there a few times over the years and it has gotten more run down. Lots of the paint has chipped away and it needs some TLC. The cabins are in more need of this, some of them are rotting and bees got in through holes. We were absolutely surrounded by the white fuzzy caterpillars dropping from tree and running at us (uncomfortably fast little things). Not just one or two, but about 50 on the front of the cabin and more everywhere else. It did make it hard to enjoy being outside and we often had to stay in the cabin as they do sting and cause a pretty bad reaction. We mentioned it at the front, and there was nothing they could do, which is understandable, but unfortunate. There were so many nests on the cabin and around which likely could have been destroyed. A bit of a skunk smell in the cabin, which they are aware of as there was air fresheners hidden everywhere. Everything around the camp needs some upgrading. The old bathrooms were gross and the new bathrooms were worse. They were moldy and smelly and just dirty in general. I only peed twice while there the whole weekend just to avoid the bathrooms. Even the cabins with bathrooms aren’t entirely clean, around the toilet it was particularly gross and the entire thing overall could use a deep wash. The cable has almost nothing and the wifi is so slow and they even say that they will turn it down if you use too much so bring a computer and make sure the have data if you watch TV when you sleep. (No DVD player) Definitely more expensive over the years. Wood and kindling was almost $40 for just 2 bags and 3 kindling. They do offer hot food now. We got a pizza and it was extremely mediocre at best. It wasn’t hot and reminded me of a lunchable. For $14 with tax it wasn’t great. Not expecting gourmet food, but a bit better. If you really put your mind to it, one person could eat the entire thing. My last gripe is they don’t answer emails. I have emailed multiple times and never heard back. Sometimes I don’t have time to call and email just tends to be easier. Conclusion: It’s a ok place to relax if you live near it. If you are going out of your way to camp maybe look around and find what is right for you! I miss what it used to be. So many fond memories...

My partner and I stayed in one of their basic cabins (no washroom) for one evening. ||||I understand that COVID is a very uncertain time, however, I wish the website or staff had communicated what amenities and events were closed during this time.||||For example, their website advises there is an icecream social on Saturday and unlimited pancake breakfast on Sunday. Since their website did not advise these were closed due to COVID we figured they had a safe way to run these events. I was wrong. When I asked about them I was advised they were not running due to COVID.||||The pool, however, was running and was very crowded. We decided not to use it. I feel that there should be a sign up sheet or something to help control the number of people in it.||||The cabin itself was very cute, appeared very clean, and the air conditioning worked very quickly. There was a swing bench outside at the front (with cover which was fantastic as it rained), a fire ring, charcoal grill, and table with four chairs. ||||The cabins are fairly close together (we were right beside one), and our cabin was right beside a water spout so we had people constantly walking up and away from our site. ||||Inside the cabin there was a twin size bed (a very uncomfortable mattress but we were expecting that), bunk beds, a little table with two chairs, mini fridge, microwave, two small shelves, and they even include a broom and dustpan. There was also a mini fire extinguisher. The little table with two chairs was a nice surprise as we thought we would be stuck inside so this would be a nice spot to colour, play cards (etc) while watching some shows on our tablet if it rained.||||The bathrooms were a short walk away from our cabin. They are only cleaned once a day (which seems really bad during COVID) so I brought antibacterial wipes to use on the toilet seat and sinks. ||||The staff were SO nice! There were two women working the front counter and they were so helpful and happy to answer my questions. I ordered firewood for our campfire ($12 per bundle) which was delivered to our cabin. The wood burned for a while (we were burning it quick and we used 1 1/2 bundles in six hours). ||||Everything was pretty clean, however, the microwave was dirty (bits of food inside). I would recommend wiping everything down quickly with antibacterial wipes to stay safe. ||||It was supposed to storm and rain the whole weekend but we were lucky and the rain was very light so we were able to use the firepit (plus we were right under a tree so we stayed dry!).||||Wifi was free and can be setup and used on ONE device (though we ended up not needing it). ||||Remember to bring...

The cabin was nice but i paid over $1100 for the sole purpose of having a full bathroom and i could not even use the shower. The handle came off in my hand when you try to turn it on, the shower head would not stay in the holder which just kept falling forward to the point it fell on my head and made me bleed. I was offered no kind of compensation and for my full 5 nights no one ever came to fix the problem. I could have stayed in a hotel cheaper and at least been able to take a shower. I believe they should have at least tried to make it right, but no, they just smiled and said they put the maintenance request in and i said i was not happy and would just pack up and hand in my key the response was "perfect have a nice day" are you kidding me. What kind of customer service does not even try to make it right. Some kind of compensation or an upgrade ( they did have a cabin i could have to extend my stay but would rather leave it empty than offer it to me at the same price to make my experience better) if i wanted the other cabin that was free they woyld charge me almost 100 per night more than what inpaid for the one i was in. I do not hate KOA i have stayed in many but i will never recommend this one as they are so busy they dont care about really making people happy because they have plenty of campers so the feeling i got was who cares about one thats not happy. This was a great deal of money for me to spend. I am not rich and it took a years worth of vataction pay for me to come and tey to destress only to be stressed out about not having a working shower. You may be busy and dont need my business but you should still care about your campers and try to...
