Beach Lodge Cottage — Hotel in Ontario

We were here for 4 days 3 nights in late March. The weather is rather cold and the lake is still half frozen.

The cottage is as described. There’s a total of 5 bedrooms and 4 washrooms. All washrooms have shower. Something worth to note is that 2 of the bedrooms are actually joint together and separated by a thin sliding door. Would not recommend it for couples as there’s no privacy.

Management reply is very prompt and we experienced a major issue (no hot water) on the day we checked in and it has been resolved the next day in the late afternoon.

The kitchen is well stocked with pots and pans, cooking utensils, dine ware and glasses. Cleaning supplies are also great, paper towels, new sponge, dish detergent, garbage bags etc. One thing to note is that the knives are super dull, it’s challenging to cut open a honeydew.

The electric is not very stable so does the wifi. Some of us need to work and find it difficult. Luckily we kinda expected this to happen and brought our “wifi egg” to resolve this issue. After all, it’s remote area and we understand the internet can be weak and unstable.

Not much activities available, just board games, sauna and an outdoor hot tub. The hot tub is definitely useful during the cold days. Would love to have a pool table, air hockey table or dart board.

It’s convenient that the cottage provides fire wood and outdoor BBQ with propane gas, so we don’t need to prepare those things in advance.

The spacious dining room is more than enough to host 10 of us.

All in all, there’s good and bad about this cottage but the view is special and not too far of a drive...

Had the best time at this cottage! I think this cottage is well worth the price ~ super clean, great amenities, and it is super spacious. I love that the cottage has an open concept layout. Everyone is always hanging out together! We especially enjoyed being able to sit down together for our meals! We had a group of 14 so it’s rare to find a place that can accommodate the amount of people we have comfortably. The dining table looks out into the beach which was so refreshing and beautiful! The beach is incredible - soft sand, calm, shallow and warm. We were out every day! Also the hot tub and sauna is super clean. You can tell that the owners really take care of this place! The Beach Lodge Cottage felt like paradise for the weekend. To escape with my big family and have everything you can ever need. Every age group enjoyed the variety of activities, board games, outdoor scenery that this beautiful cottage has to offer. It was clean, plenty of beds, plenty of full bathrooms and plenty of ambiance inside and outside of the house. My personal favourite is the size of the massive open concept kitchen which allowed for multiple people to cook and spend time together. With a large 16-18 person long table that my whole family shared such memorable meals throughout our vacation. Another bonus: Sauna and a hot tub that was clean and so so relaxing! We will be back!!!
