Tried to book our wedding with them for October 2022, and the whole process was very frustrating, to say the least. We asked about their venue and they emailed us a brochure to get started. On their brochure they state that weddings after October 16th would be a discounted price because it's off season. So we emailed back saying our first choice would be October 22nd, but anything in their off season would do. They emailed back saying they had October 22nd 2022 available. We were so excited. It's a beautiful venue. So we asked to get the ball rolling and they sent over a basic sample contract. The sample was not catered to us at all and you could tell it was just the same contract they send to everyone so you could see the fine print and all that. We reviewed and asked for a couple changes, and they agreed to send over a revised contract based on what was discussed. They finally sent over another contract after waiting a week. The contract was not revised at all, and absolutely nothing we discussed was on there. So we politely inquired about it again and didn't hear anything for TWO WHOLE WEEKS. I sent multiple emails and they never responded. They finally got back to us and said, "there was a typo in the brochure." They back peddled on the discounted price, and said that the brochure should have said October 31st, not October 16th as off season. So sketchy. So I write back a lengthy email pretty much saying that if they don't honor the price presented to us, they will lose us as clients. They refused to keep the off season pricing as originally presented and then changed their story again, and said they had the right to change pricing. So, was it a typo, or did they just decide to change pricing on us last minute? I guess they forgot which lie they had already told us. Anyways, this whole process took close to a month, now we are out a venue, and this bride-to-be is shattered and has to start this process all over again. Their excuse for why it took so long is because of the Xmas market and staff shortages due to covid lol. Then how are you supposed to handle a wedding when the time comes?? Brides and grooms, be warned. They are new owners of the venue and obviously not qualified to handle it as a wedding venue. Such a shame as it's a...

Read moreMy wife and I just returned from a 3 night stay at The Eddie. What a wonderful experience! If you are looking for a quintessential PEC experience - this is the place. The rooms were very spacious and tasteful - retaining the charm of the original building and yet are updated, modern and clean. The Eddie is perfectly situated to explore PEC and experience all that the county has to offer. The property is extensive with lots of things to do. There’s a event barn- we saw a wonderful play/musical - and they also get great musical acts. There’s bike rentals (the Millennium trail backs on to the farm), a cheese and gift store (they get local cheeses and meats as well as products from The Cheese Boutique in Toronto) and a flower nursery on-site. Alex and Mike really go out of their way to make your stay memorable and make you feel like you’re living in your own rural mansion- from incredible breakfasts, nice choice of liqueurs to spike your coffees or hot chocolate to access to the delightfully decorated grand rooms on the first floor. This place is truly remarkable. For those that are considering the Drake Devonshire or Lakeside Inn as a exciting, interesting or country-chic option - as wonderful as they seemed- the Eddie felt like the real deal and is an exceptional choice (for considerably less). The Eddie also looked like it would be an ideal place for a family - both to explore the grounds and the area in general. Anyone considering a wedding in the area should also give this place serious...
