I researched this campground and others in the Ottawa area. I booked this campground mainly for the proximity to Ottawa, the dog park (which is advertised on their webpage) and the reviews I read. Every bad review I read was about the management staff, not the facilities, so this is really a review about the campground so others will not be blindsided like I was. The facility and items advertised are not as they appear. It does have a pretty decent heated pool, the playground was smaller than what is in my backyard and consisted of broken slides which looks like they were found on the side of the road and an old tractor tire. It did have a soccer field but I couldn't tell if the volleyball area was communal or a part of someone's site. We stayed on a 30/50 amp big rig site which was advertised as *all* having a fire pit. We did not have one. In fact, only about 2/3rd of these sites have one. We noticed before we unhitched, and I went and questioned it. We were told to use the site behind us because it is never used. We bought wood from the campground and then went out for dinner. When we got home after the office hours and such it was closed, they had placed someone on that site (even though there were numerous other sites available) for the night. No fire for us that evening. WIFI is pretty much non-existent. We were placed between two different WIFI towers and couldn't get a signal. I stood beside each tower and couldn't get a signal. Only place you could find it was at the office or by the washrooms. Now the dog park. Oi....This was not a dog park, nor a dog run. This was a 15 x 10 rent-a-fence enclosed area, even the smallest of dogs couldn't run in this enclosure and get tired. My front porch is bigger than this enclosure, there is no way this is a dog park. And to get to the so called dog park you had to walk through other camp sites/dedicated tenting sites. There was no way to get to it otherwise. Never once did we see a nature trail, we saw lots of back roads that had construction equipment/debris on it, but no where that I would want to walk with my kids/dogs. There was no Rec Hall. Well the park map says it is there, but it is filled with construction tools, supplies and generally used for storage. There is no emergency phone. It too is marked on the map, but there is no phone there. There was posted office hours, but it would close periodically throughout the day. We went up twice and it was closed during the posted office hours. We didn't use the showers, but the bathrooms were decent. Typically campground bathrooms in my opinion. I usually just let a bad campground go, with the promise of never to return, but this campground is so grossly misrepresented, I couldn't let it go.

Had low expectations but was surprisingly happy with our two night stay in the pull through section. The sites are incredibly large, what feels like over 100 ft long. Was very easy for our 42 ft fifth wheel to maneuver, they have no low hanging trees and the price is reasonable. Biggest surprise was that there is a cell tower at the back of the campground which gave us incredible internet speeds. The laundry washer was okay, but the dryers don't really work and had cost us lots of time and a few extra dollars because they did not dry. Hopefully they fix that. everything is manual including the owner writing out handwritten receipts and doing math without a calculator, but that's kind of endearing.

We had a nice, level, pull through site with full hook-ups including 50-amp power. A nice bonus was the patio under the picnic table area. It had been pouring rain and these pull through sites seemed to handle the rain and drain fairly well, as opposed to some of the grassy areas. Check-in was easy, the gentleman was very helpful regarding information on the area and public transportation to the city. Laundry facilities were clean and worked well. Definitely a nice location for visiting the Ottawa area.

I wanted to take a moment to share my recent experience at your campground, as I believe constructive feedback can contribute to improvements.

I was really looking forward to my stay with my family at your campground, but ran into a few issues.

Firstly I was surprised by the layout of the campsites. The open arrangement felt more like a parking lot, with trailers positioned closely together, offering little to no privacy. This proximity resulted in discomfort to say the least as I found myself facing the backs of 2 neighbouring trailers.

There weren’t many activities or attractions for children, which is often a highlight at other campgrounds. There is a play structure and an open field , but didn’t feel to family or kid friendly. It seemed that the demographic of guests was predominantly seniors who appeared make this their long term home. This raised some confusion regarding the intended purpose of the campground, as it did not seem to cater to families seeking recreational experiences. Perhaps the campground isn’t a recreational campground? I really don’t know.

The tent sites were similarly cramped, often situated adjacent to bathrooms and dumpsters. When I say adjacent I really mean quite literally mean up against. Given that the park appeared to have ample space, I was puzzled by the decision to maximize site density in such a way.

One of the most significant concerns I encountered was the overwhelming presence of flies. I found hundreds of flies around my campsite, (the green ones!) which quickly infested my camper every time I opened the door, making it difficult to eat or prepare food. Any sippy cup or snack was immediately covered in flies and had to be discarded. Please don’t look at me as if I’m the crazy lady who left a negative review because it rained.. I believe this issue stems from a lack of cleanliness on the grounds rather than natural conditions. Regular cleaning of the ground by spraying soap and water would eliminate this issue and greatly enhance the camping experience for future guests..

while I was sitting and playing with my son someone came to the site (3 feet from us) and started using a weed whacker lol I don’t even know what else to say about that. He seemed nice , and all I could do was just laugh. He finished up and promptly left to the neighbours property

Lastly, I attempted to take my son to the soccer field, which was big and empty and perfect for running around in. It was nicely trimmed thick grass and free from the big green flies, but unfortunately it was filled with mosquitoes and some dog waste… It seems that some pet owners are not cleaning up after their dogs, my son of course stepped in it. So we did end up going home shortly after since there wasn’t much left for us to do. perhaps put up a sign for the dog owners, and spraying for mosquitoes would help.

I paid approximately $200 for a two-day stay, but ultimately spent only about 4 hours on-site spread across both days. As a neighbour to the park I had hoped this would be a convenient and enjoyable summer activity for my husband, myself and my son to camp regularly over the summer (the little one loves camping ) but regrettably, we will not be returning.

PS: The lady at the front desk was lovely...

I needed a place to stay after picking up my new trailer, honestly I wish I’d stayed at Walmart. Washrooms were closed, under renovations, construction in the campground as they replaced some infrastructure at the two way sites. Construction on the highway in front of the campground, so access to the campground was limited and at times restricted. I had intended on checking out on Sunday, but with all the construction (yes they work on the weekends) some impending weather….high winds, I decided to check out early. After four attempts to contact someone in the office and a phone call to an inactive voicemail account I left. When I returned home, all my subsequent emails remained unanswered, until I mentioned cancelling my credit card charge, then I was told no refunds on early departures. After searching their website there is no mention of no refunds on early departure, and I’m still waiting for a response to my follow up emails. ||The campground overall is very “old” looking, some of the out buildings need repairing or replaced. At the time I was there, the occupants were mostly “snow birds” and I can’t say they were friendly. They’d scream at you if you made dust driving down the road…..ummmmmm and this is my fault? Ohhhh and no wifi.||In closing, I’d not recommend this campground, it was made quite obvious to me that they’re only concern is your money, and in my opinion, they want a lot of it...
