We just got back from a week in early July and stayed in cabin #12. Was five of us including our three teens. It had two bedrooms and two couches in the living room that two teenagers slept on.
The place is really set up well. We hit the super store in West Bank before arriving and picked up some breakfast and BBQ food items. The unit has a good sized fridge with freezer so perfect to stock up a bit since you don't want to eat out all the time. It had plenty of dishes, pots and pans, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, cutting boards, fruit platter tray, knives basically everything you need. It also had a gas Weber BBQ that worked perfectly. I used it a few times for burgers, steaks and hotdogs. It is great to eat on the beautiful deck that had a view of the lake. Since this is in the middle and not lake front (it's a very short walk to the lake) you are higher up so have a great view. It also had a nice BBQ scraper and cooking tools. I appreciated this!
When we got there and we're figuring out who was sleeping where we realized we needed another set of bedding for one of the teens for the other couch. We called the number on the door and we had a set within 5 minutes. One of the rooms had a smart TV and so does the living room. The wifi was excellent and we all appreciated that especially the teenagers. I didn't hear of anyone having to restart or reconnect once! The air conditioner is in the living room and it's loud and it does keep the place cool but if you shut the bedroom doors at night the rooms will get hot since the ac can't get in. Both rooms had good fans that did the job for us. Only one bathroom but the shower was great very hot and good water pressure.
The beach is a short walk away and it's really nice. Plenty of loungers and we never had a problem finding any. The sand is nice but it is rocky in the water so I recommend swim shoes especially for young kids. The older kids would usually jump in off the dock and not require them unless they swam to shore. It gets very deep at the end of the pier so I'd recommend life jackets unless you are a good swimmer. They have a big inflatable trampoline the kids would swim out to and use. They absolutely loved it. (again life jackets if they aren't good swimmers)
The dock seems to be pretty new and is a plastic type that didn't get hot or give you slivers so was nice. We didn't come prepared to fish but could see them so went to Canadian Tire in Westbank and bought a few dock rods. They had a line and reel for only $15 ea and worked great. We were out of province so bought 8 day fishing license online for myself and our oldest. Anyone under 16 didn't need one. We caught a couple fish both in the evening after it was cooling down.
Peachland is about a 20 min walk away to the start of it but most of the shops and restaurants are 20 mins further. We walked the first time and then took a cab back. After that we just drove it's much easier and then you can park and walk around town. The restaurants all closed pretty early like 8pm so keep that in mind. We loved the Blind Angler grill which is the last restaurant in town but it has a view of the marina. Excellent burgers, grilled chicken, chicken fingers and steak sandwiches etc. We went there twice and were happy each time. The town is pretty laid back mostly older people but seems very safe and clean.
There is an IGA, A&W, dollar store, gas station, pho place and more just off the highway at Peachland. (5 min drive) All the major stores are in West Bank 10-15 mins away.
They have some nice sitting areas on the grass and also another by the beach that you can play cards or games at night. They have a big wood Jenga and other games available.
We've stayed in other resorts before one very close by this one and this one was by far our favorite. While it's not luxurious it's comfortable, very nice and the location is beautiful. For the price it's well worth it. It was an 11 hr drive for us but we definitely will be back it was...
Read moreIn response to the owners comment, I spoke to the manager about the door when she approached us on the beach and the owner came to our suite and spoke with my sister, I then sent an email. So, I did everything I could to communicate with the staff about the screen door. I also requested an extra fan, because the bedrooms were too hot, again explaining over the phone that an extra fan was needed. The fan was supplied, so my concern about the lack of air conditioning in the bedrooms was expressed to whomever answered the phone. I did not use excessive force on the door and I can provide a number of references to clarify that I do not lie. If I had done anything, other than open and close the screen door I would have been more than willing to cover the cost.
We spent $1600 for a three night stay. On the first day I opened the spring loaded screen door, it slipped from my hand and snapped back into the screen door mechanism and the entire thing fell off the door and crashed to the floor. When I mentioned it to the management we were accused of walking through the screen door and breaking it. That afternoon we received a credit card receipt for $250 for the cost of the door repair. I sent an email to them explaining that I simply opened and closed the door once and it broke, but they again accused us of breaking it. They assured us that they test all items in the cabin before renting it to the next tenant but someone could have had the same issue and put it back up, leaving it vulnerable for the next guest. Also, I was unable to get the BBQ to work and it made me doubt that they had checked it. The BBQ was filthy, so I had scrubbed it clean before I realized it wasn’t working. When I book a place that is in this price range, I would expect to be able to use the screen door, as it was intended to be used, without it crashing to the floor and then being accused and charged for breaking it. Not to mention the safety issue of having this falling to the floor where it could have landed on someone or easily broken any dishes that were on the table. Another surprise is the $130 cleaning fee, that is not mentioned when you book the cabin. Not only do they charge this but you are expected to take out the garbage, put all towels in a laundry bag and leave the dishwasher empty. To leave the dishwasher empty, you need to hand wash the breakfast dishes because there would not be enough time before the 10 am check out to run the dishwasher. This is really an Air B&B level of service as we saw no staff until our...
Read more*Edit - I'm not sure why they’re lying or talking about a kindle (?) but for a 5 night stay we were given 2 small bin sized garbage bags, 3 dishwasher tabs, 2 rolls of toilet paper, 1/4 sponge, and zero hand soap. When we asked for more garbage bags, they brought us one. When we asked for more toilet paper, we were told we needed to supply our own.
We spent thousands expecting a peaceful, quality getaway — but what we got was a frustrating, uncomfortable experience that left us feeling unwelcome from day one. The owners and staff were consistently rude and abrasive, creating a tense atmosphere that made it clear guests were not their priority. My family and I felt like a burden. Basic essentials weren’t even provided — we had to purchase our own toilet paper, hand soap, and garbage bags. For the price, that’s absurd. Despite charging a cleaning fee, we were expected to unload the dishwasher and take out the garbage and recycling ourselves — not just outside, but to a separate drop-off area. The provided cleaning supplies were laughable: a kitchen sponge that had been literally cut into quarters, and just three dishwasher pods in a reused container. The cabin itself was cramped, and the air conditioning barely cooled the space. The sliding door was nearly impossible to open or close. When we mentioned this to the owner, he casually dismissed it as “not fixable.” We ended up fixing it ourselves with a can of WD-40 — something staff should have handled long before we arrived. The on-site office had posted hours but was never staffed when we needed help or had questions. To top it off, in the evenings the owners would sit around drinking in full view of the guests, which only added to the unprofessional atmosphere. This resort was a huge disappointment. Between the poor service, lack of basics, uncomfortable cabins, and hostile energy from the owners, we regret ever booking here. Absolutely not worth the money — would not return...
