The room overall was good. The kitchenette had a few plates, cups, bowls, some cutlery, a pot and a pan. The washroom had just enough toilet paper to last until we left in the morning. Most things in the room were pretty clean. When we got to the room, the front window was open, not sure if it was intentionally left like that or another guest forgot to close it. The blind of the front window was also missing a piece, but we just covered it up with some scrap paper. My only complaint is the room had so many spiders in it (I took a few pictures of them, but not all the spiders I found). I know spiders are good for the environment, but I am terrified of spiders and I had trouble sleeping worrying about if they would crawl around me in my sleep. In the morning, we found a spider in the blanket and we realized the gap between the wall and the bed (where a headboard would go) also had spiders.

Clean rooms, code sent for the door for self serve. Located at the bottom of the Cabot Trail this was a great home base for sightseeing. Just down the street from Port Hawkesbury where groceries and all amenities are. 1 minute drive from information centre.

The rooms are somewhat outdated; however, everything else was fantastic. Tony was amazing in setting up my reservation for the week, and Rosie checked in throughout my stay, making sure I had everything I needed. It's really great for the price point!

We needed a place to stay the Friday night not realizing that places booked up quickly. We found this place online and it seemed okay…it was just one night, after all.

We arrived to see that it’s all contactless meaning no reception, just a sign on the door giving a number if needed (which was fine considering the times we’re still living in!) That said, it was pretty cool that the locks on the rooms have been fitted with keyless entry (a combination was emailed to us). Once we finally got in (with some struggle to get the numbers to work on the lock pad), it was your run of the mill 2-star motel. The floors have been changed to a vinyl plank & the tv was fairly new. The kitchenette wasn’t really a useable one as there were no outlets to plug in a kettle if a hot beverage was wanted. The door to the bathroom didn’t close at all but at least it was clean! And the bed…🤦🏻‍♀️. While clean, it was incredibly squeaky — I tried to see if there was sort of plastic covering but to no avail. Needless to say I didn’t sleep much at all…make a turn on the bed…loud squeak.

While not the worst place ever, it’s not a place I’d go to again unless...

This place looks ok until you enter the rooms! Walking into a dirty room wasn't what I was expecting, crumbs on the floor, dust everywhere, but the worst was going into the bathroom and seeing feces all over the toilet. We complained, the lady told us we wouldn't get a refund, begged us to take another room as one of her workers must have messed up that room! So we went into another room, and it wasn't any better! Floor in the bathroom by the toilet and tub was rotten, urine that wasn't cleaned up on the bottom of toilet, food on walls, black stuff all over the door, dusty, door of fridge was dirty, tub plug had black mold, walls had cracks! She couldn't understand why we're upset, she thought the rooms were clean, crazy!!! We called Bookings.com right away (we booked our room through them), we emailed all the pics to them, and they called Capeway Motel and canceled our reservation right away, and we received all of our money back! Stay away from...

This place is a run down death trap. The ONLY thing going for it is newly installed heat pumps with AC. The bed was extremely uncomfortable, squeeks and all. Very tiny, with what looked like newly installed flooring, however a teenager that never held a tool in their life could have done a much better job. There were gaps in the flooring everywhere. With the install of the heat pump, the baseboard heater should have been disconnected. It wasn't. The bed was pushed right up against the wall and baseboard heater. During the night, we had to pull the bed away from the wall as it woke us with that much heat. Had it stayed in that position, I'm sure the place would have caught fire. Upon pulling the sheets back to turn in for the night, we noticed 2 tiny bugs hopping around the pillows. They were quickly caught and flushed down the sink with HOT water as mere squeezing them to kill them did not work. Definately will NOT stay...
