We just got back from a great couple of days in Rawdon. The owners have done a great job and are very welcoming, helpful, attentive, and just a pleasure to be around. Thank you James and the lovely ladies in the restaurant! As noted the rooms are awesome. We had the suites, and my only regret is we weren’t booked in to stay longer. One night was definitely not long enough. I’d give it a 5, but the golf course has a few weird holes and was very rough in a cart. The greens were in good shape and very sloped so putting is tough. Upgrading a golf course can’t be inexpensive and I suspect it is a work in progress as there are some wonderful holes as well. I love that drive from the elevated tiered tee boxes on 18! The course is pretty short, but don’t let that deceive you as, except for a few holes, I put my driver away and I still didn’t score great. Small and elevated greens. My suggestion would be to provide a yardage book or more detailed score card with distances/advice/tips on how to play it because it is so deceptive and often blind off the tees. That’s costs money, so it’s a bit of a balancing act I guess. We didn’t get a chance to hike or bike in the area which looked really nice...next time! We will be back! Keep in mind, this is not the 5-star resort (ie Montebello) run by big business, and neither are the prices, both of which is what I like. We went there with no preconceived expectations and had a wonderful time. Thanks again James. It’s nice to see a family run business that works hard to make our stay as enjoyable...
Read moreSeven of us went to eat there at 13:30 on a Monday, the first week of November . It was the only place that was open on Monday. When you enter, there is a small store that sells golf supplies. You have to continue walking to the next room, where the resto-bar is located. The soup was the soup of the day. The main ingredient was butternut squash. It was SOOOO good. Then I ordered Quesadillas. They were very well prepared. The cheese in them sealed the sides well enough so that there was no mess, even when I picked them up and ate them by hand. The French fries were alright. The people next to me ordered some kind of burger. It had several tiers. They found the food tasty, but rather ordinary, Many main dishes were in the 15-17-dollar prize range. The dessert, a sweet creamy cake, was very delicious and served very professionally with a chocolate syrup that was drizzled in zigzags on the plate. The tea was very good Orange Pekoe. The waitress asked us if we wanted drinks from the bar. My neighbour ordered beer, which he found very good. The napkins were of black cloth. The tables near the wall were suitable for two people. We sat in the center, where 7 or 8 people were seated comfortably. In the summer this resto-bar has sliding glass doors that open onto a large balcony. The view of the golf course is impressive. The waitress...
Read moreI have booked a room at Rawdon golf resort hotel. The hotel looked nice. When we entered the hotel, there was no receptionist at the hotel entrance; It was dark and uninviting. We did not know what to do at first. I made a call and a receptionist answered and guided us remotely from across the street on the golf course. The room was nice, but the bathroom was not that functional. There were no racks or hooks to hang our towels. The shower stall (no bath) was nice but very slippery. I would put something on the shower floor to prevent people from falling. It is a matter of time that someone may get injured. I would also add a chair in the bathroom, so it is easier to change our clothes. The swimming pool was in the lake. The swimming pool was using the dirty water from the lake, and it was too cold to swim. I did not dare to use the swimming pool because there were too many debris on the surface. It cost me almost $200 for one night, which I find excessive for the lack of services. For that price, I would expect to have at least a receptionist at the hotel. I had a nice hotel near Terrebonne for less money, and it had an indoor pool and a spa with a lot more services. For a golfer, it may be a nice place to visit. For people who don’t golf, I would look elsewhere because you could get a better deal with...
