Eden Estate B&B — Hotel in Reidville

This was the first bed and breakfast we have experienced. I usually book in hotels but decided to try this based on the airport shuttle which we ended up not needing, as we were able to rent a car last-minute.

Jake was friendly and welcomed us when we arrived. He showed us to our room, which washroom to use and explained about breakfast. The room was nice, clean and towels were provided. There was no tv in the room but we didn’t mind, we rested early instead.

The next morning, we only requested for coffee because we don’t usually eat breakfast. Jake made a really good pot of coffee, we had 2 cups each. He chatted with us and told stories of his life and the town. There were books (The Myths of Newfoundland) beside the guestbook and I was interested in reading it but didn’t have the time, luckily it was for sale, so I bought one.

I booked and got confirmation on 2025.01.30, payment was made on 2025.06.16. I went there today-2025.06.21, ring the bell, nobody opened the door, I went around to find people, then an old man opened the door but refused to let us in and told us he did not know anything and couldn't help us and close the door. his attitude was very rude and unwelcoming. Then I called the owner, got an message to contact his father, and I called his father, nobody answered. We had just taken a taxi from the airport. To make amtters worse, hotels in Deer Lake were full booked today, so we had no choice but to take the taxi again to a nearby city-Corner Brook to stay, a 45 minute ride that cost more money . 🚨🚨Alert Warning 📢📢 These guys are so unprofessional'' an old guy came out of the door, and aggressively asked to leave and refused us to accommodate, we had the the booking for the place and paid all in advance, while all other hotel and cabin were booked. Luckyly we found something available in Corner Brook 53 km from Deer Lake, We paid 140$ in advance to these guys which we are trying to get refund + we paid 110$ for the taxi to corner brook and + 245 $ for the room booked there + 90 $ back to the Deer lake next morning, time waste and humiliation was just cherry on the cake!!!! Please Please dont book them !! Save money, Time...
