I was thoroughly disappointed in Glacier House Resort. The cabin we stayed in (large Family) was not worth the $280/night + tax and here's why.

The whole cabin is half decorated. It's like they ran out of money. There is nothing on the walls, which are badly scuffed up) making it feel very barren. You can see the carpet underlay as you walk up the stairs. The furniture isn't all that bad for a cabin but it's mixed in with Ikea's Hamnes range which is very worn out. It looks and feels wrong. In the master room they put a tv cabinet with no tv. Picture the bed frame in pine and the dark fake wood effect of a random tv table. Odd.

The bedding actually smelled. When I lay down at night it just didn't feel or smell clean. My first feeling was that it hadn't been washed. The bedding is also very cheap and has a motel feel to it. The under blankets had what looked like cigarette burns in them. Not what you expect when you pay $280/night.

The beds aren't particularly comfy either. They are loud when you move on them and the mattresses felt old. The bed frame in the master had multiple wood plugs missing and looked like it was going to fall apart. It was supported underneath with some additional wood strut. I wouldn't think you could give that away.

The whole place was dirty and I would doubt their cleaner's detail. Our son found chewed sun flower seed inside and out on the balcony. He also found a used ear plug on the floor! The kitchen table wasn't clean and you could see finger prints and greasy smears all over it. They don't provide any cleaning materials or dishwasher soap so unless you go out and buy some nothing will be clean. They don't provide you with a sponge or cloth but there is dish soap.....but no where to dry the dishes. The kitchen is nice looking though but with everything else I doubted how clean it was or how clean the plates and utensils were. I would be concerned about cooking a meal here.

The tv is too large for the living room. It's a good tv but just too big. The floor of the kitchen and living room is stone time and makes the whole place feel wrong. It doesn't feel cost or somewhere you want to be. The lights in the living area are dim and pathetic. They make it feel dark and dingy.

The bathroom was nicely put together but the bath upstairs didn't drain and was blocked. They came to see it but had no solution. Also upstairs they have asked it to hang towels on the shower curtain rail but the only place to hang them is right next to the toilet and a big towel would touch the toilet brush! No hooks on the doors or anything .

The whole place felt wrong. We didn't like it and the longer I stayed the more I realized there was nothing nice here. It felt like a Ferrari body with a Ford Mondeo interior and engine. Nice on the outside but there are no photos of the interior online. It felt like they had the cabins built and kitchens/bathrooms put in on contract and then they decorated it themselves with odds and ends and it totally shows. It would be acceptable if the price was a lot less but for $280 a night, it's simply overpriced for what you get. Very disappointing.

On the plus side the service is good. The girls behind the desk we're friendly and helpful. When we had the bath problem (which never got fixed), they came right over to see.

I would not stay here again and I would not recommend it...

My buddy and I were here visiting the area for 1st time from the States for a birthday ski trip. He booked Glacier House for us and it was great! We got lots of snow so what was originally a 2 night stay turned into 4 so we could ski Revelstoke the whole trip. Front Desk staff was easygoing about adding 2 nights to our res AND keeping us in our same room. The room itself was sick with a gas fireplace in the corner that clicked on when the thermostat told it to. It heated the room efficiently w/o making any noise while giving off that timeless glow. We dried our gloves over it at night. Pushed the 2 armchairs up to it and used my rolly bag as a footrest to feed the cavemen within. Beds were huge and comfy. Room (214 in main building) was quiet and spacious for 2 adults but 2 couples or a couple w/ kids would be fine here for a few nights. Auto coffee and tv in the room were nice. Bathroom was fine with good toiletries only thing was a leaky valve on the hand sink that would eventually fix itself. The view behind the building outside the hotel was awesome: meadow then foothills then mountains. Hot tub, pool, and sauna were so great for after skiing. Met some nice folks from nearby too. Like always, it’d be cool if pool hours were longer but they’re already pretty good. The lower level pub was awesome: nothing fancy just warm ambience, friendly service, and good product. We loved the big river rock wood burning fireplace, free pool, soft lighting, and chill (mostly country) music. Sage was our friendly bartender with loads of helpful recommendations for places to ski and hang out. She and her colleague stayed cool with a pretty full room but kept everyone’s glasses full while stoking the fireplace and bussing tables. Food was decent but only dabbled. Both draft beers were local and clean tasting. Once again, we found the spot in front of the fireplace to be the place to be. Most people here were here for snowmobiling and I get it….They have a sled rental and guide service on the grounds with loads of trails in the area so snowmobilers are in heaven here. Seems most skiers stay in town closer to the mountain but I thought it was cooler being a bit further out into nature, and the drive back and forth to Revy is really cool. Didn’t really take em up on continental breakfast or the pocket sandwiches you can pre order but it’s cool they have em. Grill pavilion in the back would be fun to come back and use in summer. Loved the log siding, floor to ceiling wood fixtures, antler chandeliers and puffy leather couches in the lobby. Place really fit the vibe I imagined before going and the memories are awesome. I hope to...

Bait and switch room: We recently stayed at Glacier House Hotel and Resort in one of the family cabins, as it was the last cabin available when we booked. Unfortunately, the stay did not live up to expectations, especially compared to how the website presented it.

The photos online were misleading. The listing showed a proper couch, but our cabin had two futons that were very uncomfortable. The cushions constantly slid off, the covers wouldn’t stay in place, and one of the wooden boards from the futon was lying on the floor beneath it. This made it nearly impossible to sit comfortably.

There was also no storage space. For a “cabin,” there was no closet or dresser, so we had to live out of our suitcases the entire stay.

The cabin itself had several issues. There was a large gap under the exterior door, which let in moths at night. On top of that, we had problems with the door lock. At first, we thought it was the keys, so we walked back to the main lodge for help. The front desk staff kindly came to assist, but after about 10 minutes of working on it, she explained it was the lock itself sticking. Her advice was to “close the door gently” so it wouldn’t act up again—not very reassuring. The sliding patio door was extremely hard to open.

The amenities were also disappointing. The pool was closed for maintenance on our first night, which was frustrating after a long day of travel. We also paid an extra $50 for the “patio jacuzzi” add-on, but it was no more than a lukewarm outdoor bath. The jets were almost completely inoperable, so it didn’t feel like a hot tub experience at all.

Dining options were very limited as well. There is no pub onsite outside of the winter season, and the food menu available was quite small. For a resort setting, this made meals less convenient than expected.

Overall, while the location is beautiful and the staff did their best to help with issues, the cabin and amenities fell far short of expectations. More accurate listings, better furniture, proper storage, sealing the cabins properly, fixing lock issues, and improving the food and add-ons would make a huge difference.

Also note that we expected a cabin to itself like all others we book. This was a two family unit style which is joined to each other. We did hear a bit of banging from the people joined to ours. Not too bad but another misleading representation from website. There are some actual cabins that are not joined but several that are not.

Overall terrible experience and would not stay here again. We stayed for 3 nights...

This resort has severely declined in quality, service and cleanliness. We stayed in the loft cabin for $240/night in the shoulder season to go dirt biking. There were several huge beetles in the cabin (see photo). The rock walkway leading up to the cabin has landscaping fabric exposed in multiple places. The king sized bed had 2 mismatched box springs directly on the floor, with a noticeable hard seam between them. The mattress was completely worn out and felt like a hammock. The continental breakfast is very poor quality foods, they were out of coffee and waffle batter, although they quickly replenished to rectify the situation, the lack of care and attention was easily noted. The kitchen in the cabin was missing baking sheets and there was a mini broom inside of a drawer that had bowls in it. The hot tub in the resort is out of order, so luckily we had a private hot tub. The deck is in need of TLC, the stairs up to the deck by the hot tub need to be replaced or removed altogether (see photo). It is obvious that there have been some updates but the workmanship is about the same quality as everything else. Instead of fixing drywall they just screwed plywood over top of imperfections, by the looks of it. The grounds are not maintained. When you drive up to this cabin there is another cabin beside it, that I think the owners live in and it looks like a pig sty junk yard, there is all kind of items from old buckets and paint cans to mattresses and it is quite a sight for sore eyes (see photo). When we approached the front desk the attendant was on the phone, and put a call on hold, instead of serving us took another call first. The things that we liked were that the location is extremely convenient for ride in/ride out to the trails, the private hot tub was clean, the kitchen was nice but definitely needs to specify the inventory. I would have a hard time staying here again as it is a good deal of money and I think I can get better value if I have to load our sleds/dirt bikes and drive the 6km out there.
